@@sub_second_life3174 When I say that it goes to the shooter I mean that if the ref thinks that it is simultaneous then the call goes to the shooter. Regardless if there is a debate and the sitting player didn't call for a hit call then it still goes to the shooter. Those are the rules. Maybe you will still think that it is dumb. There has to be some sort of tie break for close calls. As for now the rules favor the shooter.

@desyquintero8451
@desyquintero8451 Жыл бұрын
ok, do not shoot me for this, but if you watch the slow-mo, the stripped ball was moving before the seven even hit the rail. also, look at where the cue would have hit the stripe if it were to have caromed off the seven first. If the cue did hit the seven first then it would have caromed into the stripe pushing it away from that short rail instead of into as it did. The video is too close to call it, but we can infer by the ball's movements after the hit that it did hit the stripe first meaning foul shot. Look at 30:54 a carom of the seven there would hit the 13 away from short rail, not towards it like it did. 13 was too high up to get caromed down the way it did. im 95% sure
@rickdangerous5606
@rickdangerous5606 Жыл бұрын
@@desyquintero8451 go to the TOP DOWN VIEW at around 36:05. Go frame by frame by using the PERIOD key. Because this video is NOT 60FPS you will have to hit the period key 2 or 3 times for every visual frame to update. If you go frame by frame you will 100% conclude that the 7 was hit first. If you are not going frame by frame then you are wasting your time. We all are looking at the same video and same number of frames so there really can't be any disagreement between us. We are lucky that the one single frame in question (which reveals the truth) has the 7 ball blurry(meaning it is in motion) and the 13 ball completely NOT blurry AND frozen to the cue ball meaning the 13 is either NOT moving or not moving as fast. The distance on this frame between the 7 ball and the cue ball appears to be about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch which also suggests it was hit first. With that said after reviewing it again I have concluded that the call was not as horrible a call by the ref as I first thought. It was close but in the end the 7 was hit first.

I've recently come back to pool and I initially didn't like the Template "Racks." However, in short order, I've become a fan. Yes, some of the breaks are losing power, popping up in the air, deflecting, but even a solid break can come up dry. For 8-Ball, that is both unusual and a sign that the method of Racking isn't working. Obviously, a Template is cheaper and thus generates less profits, but the differences in results speak for themselves.

As much as i like 9 ball, 8 ball is a great game and it would be a pity to have that forgotten due to matchroom pool and their decision to focus on 9 ball only. that is rather ignorant, in my opinion...how about 14-1, how about banks, how about carom, how about english pool?

So? You saying you can take an avg breaker & if they follow through for 6' they'll break like Shane? Anything else you can describe about ALL the players, in particular those of slim stature who break powerfully? What SVB, Varner, Luat and most who break as powerfully as they do (and what Strickland can't do)..? Many of which (eg Varner doesn't even realize) that their final stroke (the hit) is side-arm, just as Shane does.
@fastone371
@fastone371 10 ай бұрын
@@trumanhw They get their power from standing up on their final stroke and using their shoulder instead of just their elbow. It makes for a longer lever which will move the cue faster, the long follow thru is probably just a result of using their whole arm from the shoulder instead of just the bottom half of their arm. You are right that the long follow thrun does nothing, the shot is over by that point, the cue is no longer touching the cue ball.

Am I the only one that saw at 1.02:34...he called the other pocket with his cue?? Am I really the only one that saw that? I mean sure, it would be stupid and definitely not the easier pocket, I'm purely asking if I was the only one to seem to see him call the other pocket by pointing his cue at it?!?!

@@toddrobertson1398 It's call pocket because slop doesn't count. They just aren't required to call obvious shots.

Lin is probably thinking of coming around that corner and bumping the 8, but his pointing action (unambiguous) to an observer should be taken as calling that pocket. It should have been ruled a missed shot.

That's a pre-stroke, not a shot call. He called the 9 out loud later in the game, the shots being called must be acknowledged.

These foul calls have been terrible. Easy fix, call it simultaneous contact unless it's OBVIOUS

Mark White blows it again in questioning the ref on the bad hit..... it was so obvious, if you knew anything about pool. No way the balls could roll that way if it was a good hit
