Amazing cricketer and bloke. Shane was the most important cricketer of all time by a mile. Leg spin bowling is the most noble human trait since archery in the Middle Ages (cricket is a castle defence game) It’s poetic, skilful and lethal. We need these people as a tribal species. Thankful to have watched all of Warneys career, some live, mostly on tv. We've never had one like him, it'll be a long time if ever that we have one like him again. He made Test cricket absolutely mesmerising over after over until he got his man. And then the next 5.

It's hard to argue against most of those deliveries but surely his top 10 must include the flipper to Richie Richardson at the MCG. I think it was the Boxing Day test 92-93. That was when Warne really announced that he was a force to be reckoned with.

Can't believe he's gone. Such an amazing cricketer and person after hearing so many stories from those around him. I can still remember as a kids we would all stop what we where doing and sit down and watch warnie in awe. I gave up pace for spin after watching him. Everyone wanted to be a leg spinner after watching Shane smash wickets. Though I never met him I feel like Aussie is a little less Aussie with out him but reckon he was a top bloke and larrikin from seeing alot of footage. By far the greatest spin bowler ever imo. Certainly the best I've ever seen. His variation in his technique and the speed/intensity he bowled with just left many top class batsman with absolutely no chance. On his day he was unplayable

I remember watching Ball 1.) Me and my mate had rushed home from work to watch the last hour of play in this 2005 test. We had a few beers and thought, "Yes, England on top. No wickets down. All going well". Think that ball was in the last over of play and he went and did that to Strauss. Even though we disliked the Aussies, especially during an Ashes test, me and my mate leaped about screaming and whooping....and this was a England wicket going down remember! Unbelieveable, and one of the abiding memories of that Summer. I've never seen anything like it before or since. I remember him saying, "In Test cricket you defend with the ball (bowl your stock ball 90% of the time) and attack with the field. In T20 ODI's you should attack with the ball and defend with the field". Simple and brilliant. A true legend and will always be missed. One last comment, after that Strauss ball me and mate turned to each other and said, "God, I wish he was English". I can't think of a higher compliment than that.

I remember the first training session I ever had with a local under-16s team. After a bit of practice in the nets we went out to the field and set up a quick game just for fun. As I was the new guy they made me bowl to our best batsman first. I was nervous but somehow let go a simply perfect off spinner that floated in the air from the middle of the pitch to outside off stump, then darted back in and took out the middle stump of the poor guy, who looked shocked as the rest of the team laughed at him. I felt like Shane Warne bowling to Gatting😆 That was my peak cricket moment, I sucked otherwise lol

I can't say that I'm an avid cricket fan, and certainly not a supporter of Australia, but I was always mesmerised watching Shane Warne bowl. As I watch this and other videos, I see the ball travel towards the wicket and wonder how on earth it can pass the batsman and hit the wicket. Even seasoned batsmen who knew what Shane was capable of were tricked by his fantastic bowling. You can see the expressions of some of the batsmen that he bowls, just after the wickets have been hit. RIP Shane - you were the only cricketer that I ever enjoyed watching and whose skill I could really appreciate. What a sad loss.
