In Marvel Ultimate Alliance Mandarin tries to usurp the Masters of Evil leadership from Dr.Doom, but Mandarin gets booted from the team. As Mandarin was one of the core members.

The Mandarin's rings are Alien technology, he is magical yes but even compared to Doom he's just a whelp. Dr. Doom is on par with a Sorcerer Supreme, maybe even more so with the combo of his tech. It would be a pointless team up because Doom would take over easily.

It would be interesting to see The Mandarin and Doom interact, because The Mandarin is a master of chi-mysticism, finance, political subterfuge, military tactics, and martial arts. The Mandarin is more of a Renaissance Man than Doom. The Mandarin is perfect in mind, body, and spirit, whereas Doom is more of a science and magic nerd.

I just wish we would have gotten Wen Wu/The Mandarin in the MCU a few years earlier. Leung's performance was brilliant. Imagine had he been introduced a little sooner and him sharing the screen with Robert Downey Jr as arch enemies.

The Mandarin can still be an enemy of Iron Man in the MCU. Not so much Iron Man, but more so Tony Stark in the past as in the comics where Tony was kidnapped. Before Tony became Iron Man, he was one of the leading weapons manufacturers. Perhaps in the MCU, the Mandarin was secretly Asia’s weapon’s manufacturer during war times. When Tony renounced the weapons department of Stark Industries, the Mandarin no longer sought to rush his dominance, taking his time spreading his influence without the threat of an offense from the US using Stark tech. When his influence came to the US (Iron Man 3), He still sought what could be the ultimate weapon, the Iron Man suit. Killian taking the Iron Patriot suit was probably the plan to give to the Mandarin so he could reverse engineer the suit, but Tony came back and beat them. Not only that, but with the rise of the Avengers, the Mandarin remained largely benign as he lacked the manpower to deal with such a powerful force. It’s only now in the present day, that with Iron Man gone, Captain America retiring, and other big hero names off doing their own thing that the Mandarin had decided to make his move, ie. Shang Chi’s movie.

That’s a legit prediction honestly! Seems absolutely spot on with what they would do lol. Marvel is going to keep referencing Tony stark and the phase 1 avengers FOREVER. Even in Spider Man FFH, they incorporated Tony into Mysterios origin. All the current villains are going to be unveiled as being in the background since iron man 1, etc etc. it’s gunna be there way of explaining “why we never saw them during the events of the FiRST AvEnGeRs battles”

too little too man, its great idea but Downey is pretty much done as Iron man and he's made that clear and there's no replacing him. The Mandarin should've appeared in Iron Man 3 but remained alive as a recurring villain in the MCU as a foil for Iron Man lie orchestrating the Civil War for example. But we passionate fans could only dream.

Great video! When I saw the title of the video, I thought that he was going to appear in the Shang Chi movie. That might be cool (We never did see the REAL Mandarin in Iron Man 3!), and it would make sense for him to be a villain in that movie. Here’s hoping that someone uses him for the next phase of Marvel Cinema.

Rob whatever happened with the tie-in during the early 70s with Fin Fang Foom. There was an issue that explained how that dragon was related to Foom and Foom came to Earth to reclaim the rings.

Is the mandarins rings strong enough to go up against a green lantern. I would think a green lantern would probably win. But it will be an interesting match seeing ring vs rings.

The rings aren't nearly as powerful as a GL ring, but The Mandarin himself is vastly, vastly superior to Hal. I'd like to see them fight without rings. The Mandarin would kill Hal with one karate-chop. He'd literally chop Hal's entire body in half.

I kinda looked at the movie Mandarin as... Well, the Mandarin is such a HUGE and encompassing character... So big that it would take Multiple movies to get him right... So, they went with an end run... This, absolutely-not-the-Mandarin, Mandarin. But, 100% get why it made folks mad. They wanted THE Mandarin.

If I recall correctly, Shane Black (The screenwriter.) said that The Mandarin was a racial stereotype and that he didn’t want to use him.

Fraction's retcon was fucking stupid. It should get unretconned. The classic origin of him being an aristocrat raised to be perfect in mind, body, and spirit should be restored.
