The first time I’d traveled to Shanghai was 1998, that time Pudong only have two buildings Oriental Pearl Tower and Jin Mao! 2018 I went there again it’s a huge change, no matter old or new Shanghai it’s always my favourite city❤️🥰

When I was a kid in China in 1984 I was one of the only white people in the country, much less who spoke Chinese. Nice to see the new generation. I hope they learn as much as I did, and obtain great realizations and happiness from their time there.

Shanghai is my hometown, can't wait to go back there when the situation improves. I live in Sydney and every time I went back to Shanghai, I saw huge and constant positive changes and progress to the point that it's hardly recognisable since I left when I was 6 years old in 1995.

Shanghai is nice, no doubt, it is but one of the many amazing cities in China. Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Xi’an, just to name a handful, each with their own charms... and with all due respect to Mumbai, any of these, amongst plenty others, are pretty formidable benchmarks for the jewel of India 😝

It's not appropriate to call a city "hometown" even if you (and your parents and their parents etc ) were born and raised there because this sounds weird. The word hometown should be used only for countryside, where you and ancestors were born and raised. If the weirdness is not obvious to you, think if someone from NYC calls it "hometown", how that would sound to you.

我们实验室一共9个人，一个中国人，两个美国人，剩下都是印度人，，其中只有一个人来过上海，，当我告诉他们有人把上海跟孟买比较的时候，他们都十分诧异，认为孟买无论从什么方面都与上海有很大差距，他们很困惑这种比较是从哪里来的，，当我说有人把上海成为东方小孟买，，他们表示匪夷所思，，不相信这是印度人普遍看法，，所以到底这个说法到底哪来的？？？

It's the "divide and conquer" method that the west deploys for many centuries in Asia. The west spread rumors and lies among asian nations , they become jealous of each other and fight among themselves. Then the western armies come in to conquer and colonize

Perhaps the "h" in Shanghai is silent in Italian, so Shanghai is pronounced as Shangai. Any comments from Italian native speakers please ??
