You can’t go wrong... basically any video out there, studio or live, will rock you to the bone. It wont take long for you to fall in love with these ladies, if you haven’t already.

I didn't see any other mentions of this, but Band Maid is: Saiki Atsumi: Lead vocals and rock'n'roll queen. Nicnkame: Princess Miku Kobato: rhythm guitar/vocals/lyricist and mastermind behind the group. Nickname: Pigeon Kanami Tono: lead guitar and primary composer. Nickname: Gums Akane Hirose: drummer and drum composer. Nickname: Gorilla MISA: bassist and bass line composer. Nickname: Ass-Chin Formed in 2013, they first started getting international attention with the release of the video Thrill in the spring of 2015; that video has over 10M views now. It was hosted on a Facebook group for Japanese music in 2015, and that Facebook video got 4M views in a few weeks. In interviews, the band noticed that their KZfaq channel was getting a lot of new views and comments from international fans, and they were like, "WTF is happening?" Their label finally gave them permission to start recording their own music in 2016, and everything they've done since then has been written and composed by the band (though, they had help with the lyrics to The Dragon Cries because none of the members of the band are fluent in English). I believe that the reason their music is so interesting is that the band has such wide musical inspiration. Saiki wants to be her own style vocalist, rather than emulating someone else, but her favorite singer was Namie Amuro who retired recently. Miku's musical background was enka music, something I would describe as a traditional Japanese music most closely similar to Blues in the West. Kanami's favorite guitarist is Carlos Santana, but she grew up being classically trained on the piano. Akane began with a variety of instruments, including piano and trombone, before settling on the drums, and her favorite drummer is Nao from Maximum the Hormone, a Nu-Metal style band from Japan. Lastly, MISA also began with a variety of instruments, including piano and guitar before starting to play bass in high school; her favorite band is Smashing Pumpkins, and her favorite bassist is Paz Lenchantin. The band has a great library of music, and pretty much none of it is bad. Their sound has evolved over time, with their first album being more of a light, pop-rock sound. Their current direction of hard rock really took off when the video for Thrill became popular. In one interview, Miku had said that if Thrill had not been successful, the band probably would have broken up because they had not managed to make a name for themselves in the two years up until then. Luckily for all of us, Thrill did catch a lot of eyes, and they've been growing ever since. They have toured internationally every year beginning with 2016, including Europe and North America, though it appears that is unlikely to happen this year with the current world health situation. I have had the luck to have seen them perform live eight times, but that hardly puts me in some sort of elite company. There are some super fans in Japan that I know who have each seen the band play 75+ times over the years.

Saw them live in London in 2018 and became an instant fan, (I'm even learning Japanese because of these ladies). What a good place to start with the Band Maid reactions, it gives a great idea of the atmosphere they generate live. The Live versions of "Moratorium" or "Real Existence" are definitely worth a look too, as is most of their other stuff.😁

Be afraid! Be very afraid! B-M is pure FUN and after a few songs, you will notice that your old heroes start to fade away and you find yourself a fanboy of a Japanese girl band. That was something you never thought was possible. Not long thereafter you will suddenly start to proudly present yourself as a Band-Maidiac. There is no way back! It's a musical black hole!

They have a ton of good music. And as you've seen they are fantastic live. They also have a wide range of sound. I'll list a few. Moratorium(live), play(live), reincarnation, blooming, dice, and so many more

They have two videos with official subtitles. "Dragon Cries" which is all in English but still has English subtitles. Very bluesy song produced by Tony Visconti, best known for working with David Bowie. And their alter-ego band Band-Maiko did "Gion-Cho" which has English and romanized Japanese subtitles (you have to hit the CC button on KZfaq). Band-Maiko started out as an April Fool joke that has taken on a life of its own. They dress up as geishas and rock out (a maiko is a geisha in training).

Hey Shanksy! I live in the states and discovered Band Maid in the fall of '18. They are hands down the best rock band in the world, in my opinion of course. Check out the whole Band Maid collection. Yes, these lovelies are top shelf musicians and performers, but what sets them apart are their songs, mostly written by lead guitarist Kanami. They are catchy and stay with you all day long. The live version is very cool right? But the ogrinal one has a better sound, so you can hear 2 guitar, the bass and the drum play off each other in the 2nd verse. Very interesting!!!!

First, hear each member and their skills! What Saiki is singing about should really be the last thing on your mind and know that the overall melody is in sync! Band-Maid is simply hands down the best rock band in a very long time!! Enjoy!

No matter, I'm just curious because I hadn't seen that many 👎on channels with over 10,000 views, unless they just totally trashed the band, but you seemed to enjoy & appreciate them so I'm happy to hear that you're willing to do more. I'm sure others have already mentioned, but some of their harder hitting songs would be the newly released MV for Rinne, or the live performances of Puzzle & Moritorium.

Why stop it at all iff you don't have anything constructive, interesting or amusing to say. Probably the worst and most irritating reaction I have seen for some time. Absolutely terrible just awful.

they have a few good riffs and they got talent ..but they just cant hold a candle to 2 other bands youve been reacting to recently ..not even in the same ballpark ..
