I think Ocho, in the case of Diggs, understands that they are humans and WILL miss blocks, drop balls, etc. IF you are going to say Puka led the league in DROPS and then ALSO say he was a great receiver and had over 1500yds. Yes, in "20/20 hindsight" one can say the deal was "desperate," "ill-advised," "etc." BUT the problem with that analysis -- and the inherent UNFAIRNESS/ILLEGITIMACY of it -- is the FACT that contract decisions are made and executed BEFORE the "20/20 hindsight" information BECOMES AVAILABLE !!!!!! Nobody has a crystal ball to see how events will play out in the future. The Von Miller deal was exactly what the Bills needed AT THAT POINT IN TIME. If you might recall, seemingly the "only missing piece" the Bills lacked for a Super Bowl run (or at least the ability to get past the KC Chiefs for the AFC Championship) was a stud pass rusher to "get Mahomes on the ground." In point of fact, many pundits were taking the Bills to task for having "failed" to pursue Miller earlier at the previous trade deadline (wherein the Rams DID pull the trigger on the trade and were rewarded with a Super Bowl title). So, when Von Miller hit free agency, Brandon Beane was determined to do what he could to strengthen the Bills and give the team the "missing piece" they needed to counter Mahomes and get past the Chiefs. I DO NOT FAULT BEANE ONE BIT FOR "TAKING A SWING" ON VON MILLER. He was doing what any good GM would do with a talented team that was READY to WIN NOW and only lacked a key piece or two: he went out and got that "missing piece" !!!!! NOBODY KNEW that Miller would tear his ACL (again). The signing has not YET worked out -- BUT IT MIGHT STILL if Miler recovers fully.

Key difference between AP and Von is that Von has two rings. Also he had a previous ACL injury in 2013 and bounced back a couple years later to win A SB and be a rare defensive MVP of the game. Also it doesn’t matter how well you heal, once it happens your chances of having it happen again a more than likely. Don’t get me wrong AP was a great but so was Von in his prime. If the knee injury didn’t happen we might be having a different conversation. Also if Bills had Matt Milano from injury the game may have been different. It is what it is, I’m sure Bills will part ways and make adjustments.
