Hey friends! Ash and I had lots of fun building my boy Brooks some new nightstands for his room! My goal on these was to design them as inexpensive as possible with the cost of wood so crazy high! I love the way they turned out... and he loves them too 😊

Can you guys do a nightstand that works with side drawers on the bed? Living spaces makes one where a drawer can slide through the night stand but it is almost $400 for one!!

Is there any reason that you don’t use Rabbets for panels, and either Dado’s or Grooves for shelves, back panels, etc??? You ladies not only have all the tools, But have the talent too! I’m using the same table saw, and find it incredibly accurate for all of those procedures. One thing I have found, is that using the appropriate joinery, along with “Pocket Hole” screws, as necessary, Makes for a super solid furniture build, and, I’ve saved a bunch of “Coffee Cash” using the minimum amount of fasteners. The only thing I would recommend for your table saw, is to replace the fence with a Vega, 48”. The fence that came with my saw was a bit hard to keep aligned from weekend to weekend. The Vega was a great add on, and relatively in expensive from Amazon. With the new fence, my router has been on a much needed vacation. Great work on the builds, looking forward to more, B.T.W.,,,, Thanks for the laundry room cabinet idea, my Wife and I have built 3 of them as of now, 2 of them even have frosted glass door panels. Thanks for the inspiration!

I would like you guys to build furniture using PVC Panels. PVC is used in Puerto Rico on kitchen and bathroom cabinets as well as dressers, closets and desks. This is due to the fact that termites are all over in PR meaning wood furniture cannot be used. I would like to diy my own kitchen cabinets in PR.

Are the 2X2 boards you ripped and used actually 2X2 or are they 1.5X1.5? I’m going to use white oak for all of it but the boards I have are 1” thick so I might just go buy 2X2’s to supplement so I don’t have to do a glue up of what I have. If I buy 2X2’s they’ll really be 1.5X1.5”

What setting do you set the chuck at to prevent overdrilling your pocket holes?

The depth collar stops you at the correct place... and they have the thickness marked on the side to adjust them. Hope that makes sense!

The final unfinished stand in the garage had the hinges on the left side while the final finished stand in the room had the hinges on the right side. HMMMMM. Shanty2chic humor? Intelligence check on watchers? Nice project though, either way.
