Ofourse - have a good setup, play on a next gen console or PC and make sure you have a nice monitor and all to reduce hardware issues - reduce your deadzone to about 5ish to make parries a little bit easier - consider changing your controls if you play on controller, I personally make R2 my dodge button, R1 light, L1 heavy. The effect of this is that i dont need to take my thumb off of the joystick if i want to deflect, You cut out the time needed to move your thumb allowing for more consistent parries and deflects. - practice against a glad bot in training, set the bot to do "the pest" and set yourself to out of stamina, practice deflecting all 4 lights, if you miss a deflect, parry the incoming light, This will help your muscle memory and when you know a light is coming you will be ready for it. - Also practice the side heavies, these are sometimes harder for people because it requires a very precise timing. you can set any bot to just do heavies and just practice the timing and get very comfortable with it - once you finish the above steps go into some pvp matches and do not give up, you will mess up many times, you will die to people worse than you, but keep trying and practicing and eventually you will start doing consistent deflects - watch content creators who deflect in ways you like, understand the ins and outs of heroes that you like, orochi dodge recovery deflects, shaolin deflects from qi stance, shaman deflects from heavy finisher cancels etc. when you see a content creator do something cool, go into training and try doing it, when you are comfortable doing it try it in pvp and you will see huge differences in your progress.
