Shape Builder Tool in Inkscape 1.3

In today’s tutorial, I’ll be demonstrating how to create this offset logo highlighting the upcoming shape builder tool in Inkscape 1.3.

what does crtl+shif do? not a circle. that does the 45degree movement of the mouse and how can I copy and resize the circle in one step? Like in Corel, klick it and you can copy and resize it.

Weird, maybe it's because I'm using the Mac version but Shape Builder isn't there.

My Inkscape is version 1.1, it doesn't have Shape Builder. I couldn't change the group of green circles to turn black and couldn't continue to the further steps. I installed version 1.3 and had major problem so I had to uninstall and continued to use version 1.1. Please advise me how to solve the problem first then I can have function Shape Builder & many others to use. My problem was that the version 1.3 was unable to import images in colors. All the images looked transparent, another word, I couldn't see any image on the canvas, but the Selection arrows still showed the image was right there. Until I traced bitmap then I could see black & white image from the "live preview" and all the vector images after traced bitmap came out in only black & white. Do you know what cause this problem and how to solve it? Please advise me. (Nobody else could help me so far!) Thank you very much in advance.

When using 1.3 do your opacity set to 0%? When you create an object (e.g circle) does it show or just the bounding box? Try to clean install 1.3 ver. Thank you for watching.

@@TedMagaoay Thank you for your kindness to answer me. Even though I don't know what "clean install 1.3 ver." means, but I will try right now. I'm going to remove ver.1.1 and install 1.3 now, hopefully your idea works. Anyway, if it's because of opacity, then in the "live preview" while tracing bitmap should be able to show color vector image as I used function "multiple scans" and "colors", instead there's no color at all. I'll let you know. Thank you again.

@@TedMagaoay Hello again. I reinstalled Inkscape 1.3 and experienced the same problem, checked opacity, it's correct at 100%. The created objects had no colors, they had only outline (stroke lines). I couldn't find what could cause this problem. When creating an object, the color chart on the right side for "fill & stroke" appeared normally. I really couldn't figure out what's wrong. And it happened to only version 1.3, 1.2.1,1.2.2, but it's OK with ver 1.1. Because tracing bitmap is very important to my work, so I had to stay with this version but lost a lot of good function such as Shape Builder, Ruler, creating editable text..... & many others. It's a shame! If nobody can help me, I'll go back to ver 1.1 and for the Shape Builder, I will follow your instruction from "The Closet We Can Get Shape Builder in Inkscape Ver 1.1" That's all I can do. Thanks again. Sincerely

@@TedMagaoay I followed the link, "page not found" is the result. Besides, my computer didn't allow me to use both versions at the same time. It's a shame I couldn't use Shape Builder and many other good features in 1.3. Maybe you're right, there's a bug or many bugs. By the way, I wonder why other people didn't experience the same problem as what I did...surprised! I go back to my ver 1.1 Thank you for your kindness to help me. I surrender.😑

@@AdamBelis In Illustrator, when I just click on any area - it turneing into the shape, which I can use. Like Bucket tool - very handy. (in Inkscape Fill tool some times not working very well)
