This is the ultimate upgrade for your FrSky or Spektrum radio. For Spektrum, you will need a u.fl to RPSMA pigtail (found on EBay for $3). For FrSky, this attaches to the RPSMA port directly.

STOP MAKING THESE AMAZING ANTENNAS!!! My bank account hates you :D but I am loving them all. I just ordered a 2.4 shapeshifter and a 915mhz shapeshifter. Also, have your 1.3ghz antennas. Just amazing build quality.

I am going to add this to my dx9 .but unclear of needing to do the mod on both spektrum radio antennas. If i get 360 coverage when would I need to add another as I see you have done in this video? Or if only one is needed do I leave side antenna impacted or some how cut the second antenna trace and remove antenna ?Thank you in advance. Keep up the great job stay safe!

A $25 antenna shouldn't be asking too much for these. They're made in the USA and took several weeks to figure out how to make the parasitic reflector not detune the antenna when switching mode.

Can I buy in SMA connect? I've only seen on web site in RP- SMA. My Jumper Plus tx has SMA female receptacle so I'm assuming I need SMA male antenna. That's always confused me. I even have chart showing each and my tx definitely has a female center hole with outside threads hence a SMA female so I need antenna with male center pin and inside threads that screw over the tx receptacle.

I bought one of these, ( i have only modded the main antenna on my DX9, not the handle one yet) but did not notice much improvement. I wanted to confirm orientation of the antenna, as the video doesn't show it well.

You will want to mount it in the same orientation as the antenna on the receiver. Ideally, both are vertical (VAS logo should be upright). If this si the case and you are still having problems, I would investigate your receiver. You may have a bad receiver or receiver antenna. Additionally, you could have a damaged RF module in your radio.

@@CAGreve1231 Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I should have been more specific. Should the Transmitter be held vertical or horizontal? Should the antenna be aimed with the flat part towards the aircraft or should the side edge, or top edge be pointed to the aircraft? Does it make a difference how the antenna is pointed toward the aircraft if you are in long range mode verses omni mode?

@@drewjet1 - In boosted mode (long range mode), the arrows should point toward the aircraft. In omni-directional mode, it doesn't matter. Start in omni mode and see how it feels before playing with the long range switch. Use boosted mode (long range mode) only for missions out in front of you where you can aim the transmitter within a 90 degree beam of the aircraft.

@@CAGreve1231 Based on the video above it looks to me that the weakest parts is the middle of the donut? So would it be best to align the antenna pointing straight (not bending the antenna) out and vertical like you would an immortalT? so when you are looking down on your radio you don't see the flat of the antenna but the very thin side?

@@joshpaynedesigns - Correct. Vertical orientation keeps you from flying into the antenna's null zones.

Is it ok to switch from omni to long range and back while the transmitter is operating?

Yes! In fact, I encourage you to do this. If you have RSSI on screen, it will tell you just how much link you are playing with.

This looks promising for spektrum specifically the dx9. I have tons of recievers would not mind to try dsmx again with these antennas after the cross over to the fire! I said I would never go back to dsmx. Who would have a video about this mod? Thank you!!

I hated Spektrum and had nothing but problems with it. With this mod, I have yet to have a failsafe... and I am venturing much farther out.

@@CAGreve1231 granted most of mine are the dsmx knock off satellites but I was nervous every time I flew. Dx9 x fire mod all the nervousness went out the window naturally. So does this product come with instuctions and materials needed to complete this 2.4 antenna mods? Will there be an instructional video in the making?????

I must admit the "1" and "ON" switch labeling is a little misleading, ON can be read as NO if you look at it upside down and usually 1 and ON also might mean the same.. Why isn't it just labeled ON and OFF, or 0 and 1 ?

If you can find me a switch that says "0 and 1" in a DIP configuration, let me know. There is a reason why the antenna is marked clearly "Omni mode" and "Directional Mode".

Tried to order one from sone blue airlines and it won’t let me add it to there basket or pay straight away with PayPal it just takes you to the next page and says nothing in your cart and continue shopping and won’t let me make a account fill in all the details hit go and then all your info disappear and back to square one gave up 😫

Email Jeremiah from SBA about the issue. If there is an issue with his website, he needs to know what it is so he can fix it. We aren't affiliated with SBA, but they are in the next town over so we see them frequently. I will pass the information along to him, though.

@@markschmidt6737 - THis is typically used on the ground station (control transmitter or video receiver). I would think a diamond (omni antenna) would be better on the VTX. Or am I missing something here?
