I’ve noticed the best looking coffin nails the tip is half the width of your entire nail bed. So just to kind a give you an idea or an example let’s say your nail is half an inch from side to side then the tip should be quarter of an inch. I’ve had acrylic nails since I was 14 and always did the square tip and now that I am 42 I decided I would change it up and I would try coffin and I am so in love with the way they look. The coffin nail is very classy and beautiful.

I love this video, I’m a beginner nail tech and I look at so many videos however this really did get through to me. I like the lady on here and how she explains, also the finished result was amazing. That would be too much time and effort. That's why most, key word most nail techs do their shaping before hand. And it can sometimes hurt the client as well. And if you're using colored acrylic you can risk losing the color

@@veronicasanchez51130 But not everybody uses tips. You can do that with forms. Off course you can form it to a coffin, but if you want to change the shape you have to file it to the shape.

@@NailsbyCammi when you use a form you don't make it thick at first. You lay down a base kind of like a tip so that's what you would file before you laid down your color or whatever else you want. I don't know if you have already seen this KZfaqr but Sarah nail secrets has lots of videos on that she's really good she uses mainly forms but also tips here and there.

What is the shortest length that a coffin will work with? I can't take my nails THIS long but I think the coffin is the most beautiful shape. I've never seen anybody do this on nails that were shorter so I'm guessing it can't be done? Mary

Glitzy Fritzy you can have the nails as short as you want, however i would recommend that if you want a short coffin that the tip of the nail is more narrow :)

For primer we use our bond from the dip kit. As for a machine, our nail techs always bring in their own tools, so we don't have a specific recommendation. 💅🏻
