It is so refreshing to hear this message! I am a Christian woman who has been covering my head for three years now, and my fellow Christians actively question why I do it, and tell me “it’s not necessary.” From one sister of faith to another, thank you for the support, it’s sadly not something I hear often in my journey of modesty 💖

I'm a Christian too who wants to veil daily. I am currently only able to veil at Mass or when entering churches in general, when I pray or when I read the Bible. I'd like to wear the veil daily though. My parents wouldn't support it so I don't know what to do, please, can you give me some advice? I fully support you and other women regardless of their faith. Veiling is a virtue. ❤

@@makotofox1987 how old are you that you need your parents to allow you to cover? My parents don't support it either, but I'm in my mid-30s, so that's their issue, not mine. I cover for God, not for people! ;) (I'm Christian too) If you are a teenager, I suggest having a conversation about your reasons to cover with them and then go from there. Your parents may just be worried about you. Maybe you can compromise on "half-wraps" for now (as in covering the head, but leaving your hair out in the back). If you're older you should listen to God's convictions. He puts them on our hearts because He wants us to follow Him.

@chatabethanycricketbug hello, may I ask where you get the headcover in your picture? It's beautiful! And thanks for sharing your comment, I am a Christian woman as well who chose to cover full time over the past year. It's been very life changing. I usually use a triangular scarf like a bandana style but would like to do more of the veil or hijab style as I gain more courage. Either way great to hear of other Christian woman that are swimming against the tide of the what we understand as Christian culture for what God's word says. 🙏

Amen, as a Christian woman. I applaud you and all Muslim women who veil and who dress modestly. Because us women, have unfortunately bought into the lies of the sexual 'liberation' movement and look where it has brought us to this day. It truly wrecks my heart when I see young girls and women wear short shorts or wear scantily clad clothing. And even in church I have seen it and it is absolutely maddening. Because we have been taught to lose respect for ourselves, our bodies, and not be mindful of what it is that we are conveying with our choice in clothing. I'm a Roman Catholic and I've been discerning for awhile if I should wear a veil when I attend mass. And I honestly feel 'naked' having my head uncovered in the house of our Lord. But seeing Muslim women covered is giving me the inspiration and courage to take the plunge and do it. 🙏✨

I’m glad to hear this! I’m Catholic and veil at Mass each time I go (traditional Latin parish) and veiling outside of Church has been on my heart lately. I know the history behind veiling and understand that it is not exclusive to Islam, but it is still nice to hear that Muslim women do support us veiling full time and not just at Church. This is something I want to work toward for modesty reasons as well as religious reasons (hopefully my Christian sisters will know about 1 Cor 11-16)

@_gabgie_ So the biblical study I have done seems to say that it's only necessary in church or religious gatherings. Some people choose to do it all the time. I'm somewhere in the middle. I always do it in church and religious settings. I often do it studying and praying on my own as well. I also sometimes do it in public just because I like it so much and love the way it makes me feel. It changes my mindset and the way I am in my relationship with God, my husband, and as a mom. Someday, I might do it all the time, but it's a process to adjust to because I live in America and it's not seen as normal. I'm slowly becoming more and more comfortable doing it in no religious settings.
@britneygriffin6704

@maquillaje por LaGuerita so I don't wear a hijab, because I want to respect the Islamic faith and although I do dress modesty compared to American standards, I don't follow Islamic dress and don't want people to see me wearing a hijab and get the wrong idea based on my outfit. That being said, if i was wearing the right outfit, i wouldn't be opposed to trying one. It all depends. Sometimes I wear just a headpiece that covers my head but not all my hair. Other times, I wrap a scarf around my head and drape it on my shoulders like a more traditional headcovering. I'm doing that one more and more as I get comfortable doing it in public. And like I said, I don't always wear them everywhere I go, but I am staring to more and more. It's been an adjustment to try different types and get comfortable around people. Many Christians have a negative view of headcovering eventhough its in their book. It was hard at first, not because I didn't want to, but because I was worried people would react to it. I love it and have started doing it most of the time to some degree in public and even around the house sometimes. It changes my mental and emotional state and how I see the world and my relationship to people and to God. It's seems strange that something so small would make such a difference, but it really is a constant reminder of why you are doing it and keeps your beliefs at the front of your mind in every situation.
@britneygriffin6704

@maquillaje por LaGuerita I do understand that. I guess I meant I don't wear it the same style that Muslim women wear them right now. I do wear headscaves sometimes, I just wear them in different styles. I come from an area with a lot of Muslim people, and they are just about the only people who practice headcovering where i am specifically. This is all new to me, and I'm learning a lot. I don't come from a headcovering tradition and am trying to figure it all out as I go. I am just trying to be respectful to different people while figuring it all out. I'm sure this will all be easier one day. It's been less than a year since I started.

@Makeup by LaGuerita I'm Eastern Orthodox and I wear a hijab, both in church and out. I "grew up" spiritually in Old Calendar Orthodoxy, which stresses modesty in dress for both men and women. I also visited St. Xenia Skete and St. Herman of Alaska Monastery in Caifornia for Church services, where ladies wore modest, long dresses and hijab/headscarf, so began dressing that way most of the time. And you're right about Lutherans. My grandmother aways wore a scarf, mantilla, or hat to church. She was from a strict Observance Missouri Synod Parish. I think the greatest harm happened to headcovering post Vatican II because the Catholic Church no longer required hats or scarves for ladies, and women in other churches got the idea that to go to church bareheaded was OK. Thanks God, headcovering seems to be making a comeback. Ahamdullilah! Glory to God for all things!

All religions do good works to save them but Christians only do good works because God saved, in love and obedience to Him, so its a beautfiul work Jesus done! 💕 "Religion is mans attempt to get to God & Christianity is the Father's attempt to get to His creation" repent of your sins and trust Jesus🤍the finished work He done on the cross

We live in such a corrupt society and I just want a barrier between the world and I and I genuinely feel wearing a hijab is something God wants me to do. Hello, thanks for your comment. I am also a Christian women who covers full time, dresses and skirts, not hijab but like a bandana scarf, though someday would like to do more veiling in public. Do you live in the west? Very curious what your experience is like out in public/what kind of reactions you have had, as I've wondered similar about covering 'more' than just the bandana in the future. I've read Tertullian's comments about face veils for women in the church/Public and and been somewhat convicted from that or it's a seed planted that is. I can only imagine how other Christians/other people would perceive me in this country if I went that far (including my family) but you have mentioned here you have done this already so I was curious if you had any insight or advice for someone considering more 'radical' modesty someday. Lord willing. God bless

Well, for a start, the Bible does not require women to wear a face veil, nor does it forbid them to do so, so I don’t see a problem there. I am Eastern Christian and a nun in Great Schema and tend toward reclusion and wear the face veil both for modesty and to maintain purdah (seclusion). I haven’t had any real problems wearing it outside, but I live in an area where people are pretty used to seeing Muslimahs who wear hijab and Christian women who wear a headcovering. If people ask, I tell them I am a nun and veil fully both for modesty and to keep my thoughts on God. I also wear a cross with my niqab which marks me as a Christian. I would advise that you think and pray about it to see if this is what God has called you do-the fact that you feel somewhat convicted to wear a face veil suggests to me that this is the case. If so, I would try it on in private to accustom yourself to wearing it. Then, begin wearing it when you go out. I would also advise that you get a niqab in a breathable fabric like chiffon-a good source for this sort is Sunnah Stye which sells niqabs that conceal the face but don’t interfere with breathing. I wear a black one-layer pull-down style with a niqab flap (this allows me to cover more fully), but there are other styles and colours available. I hope this helps.

I vail at church and during fasting. This use to be a more common Christian practice. I'm sure you already know all three abrahamic religions have text about some form of vailing but each has taken the meaning in different ways. I know Mary is always seen in modest clothes and with a vail over her head in almost every painting and carving, it might not be a full hair cover but it is the block between the head and God. That was part of my conviction to return to this along with the Orthodox churches still wearing them in other parts of the world. I hope you figure it all out 💖 I think its so beautiful and I think Muslim, Jewish and Christian women are all sisters and I just love the thought of us all supporting each other

Thank you for your support. I wear a covering and it is definitely hard especially as a black woman. Sometimes I feel like I look too homely or like a mammie character. Black women aslonget a lot of hate for wearing bonnets outside of the house. Now that I cover I get pressure from being Christian and being black regarding my covering. Any support is welcome. I feel like God is urging me to adopt more of a hijab style of covering because the Christian covering is less about modesty and more about order. It’s a physical representation of men being our head and Jesus Christ being the head of men. I will keep praying and let the Lord lead me in His loving and gentle way.

I feel closer to the Lord, make better decisions, and have more confidence while covered. Unfortunately a well respected elder women of my church approach me during church and told me that I don't need to wear that thing on my head. It hurt me because she's friends with my mother and I have given nothing but love to this women over the years.

Very good take. Saw some Muslim women trying to spin it off as “cultural appropriation” but that’s a western concept. I am a woman returning to faith after many years of unbelief, and although I am not Muslim, channels like this have been such a source of peace and encouragement. I have worried about covering my hair as a Christian, but this (and many other) videos have made me feel more confident in my decision, and I think today is a good day to finally be brave and buy a pretty covering ❤

Ive started veiling as a pagan/unitarian and the only looks and judgment I have had have been from karens ect. Muslim women often smile and me and give me so much support and love. Thankyou for you're video :)

I started veiling but I look so old in my scarf and outfits… when I take pix with my son I feel I embarrass him and so just capture shots of him without myself in the picture. I really would like support what materials to use and how to coordinate affordable outfits. I look so rough😢 I love God so much and do not mean to complain. Just don’t know how to put together this new journey I’m on

I did a research a few years back and found that all major religions had women dress modestly and covered their heads, Even Hindu, indigenous people and others.

I wanna veil as a witchy thing- it wards off evil and helps keep you grounded (not exactly wearing a hijab, but I'm looking into other veil styles!)

I veil when i go outside. Normally with a beanie as of late. But warmer months for planting season I use lightweight long scarf or cowboy silk rag so i sweat less in 120 degrees in the field. When asked with tone, I say it keeps my hair up and away and ears clean from the wind and dirt.

CHRISTIANS were veiling for HUNDREDS OF YEARS before Islam came about in the 700s AD. BEFORE that time, ALL WOMEN, ALL OVER THE WORLD, veiled. Veiling belongs to us all. What a pleasant video. What country are you from?

This is so kind I have been wanting to vail aswell. But you know a bit nervous because of situations and you’re right we should love each other. You seem so genuinely sweet and I just want to say in a polite way Jesus loves you he died for our sins and rose again and if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is lord you will be saved. I say this out of a place of love, and And thank you so much for sharing

(I didn't watch this video but am familiar with this subject.) Mary then took a pound of very expensive perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. -excerpt John 12 A woman's long hair is the 'covering'. My thoughts: post length 7 minutes Reply for post if desired. It includes scriptures and commentary.

Thank you for shedding light on the fact that the veiling practice is shared by many faiths, including christianity, judaism and hinduism, not just islam.. the christian bible actually mentions the veil and the importance of women wearing it, and this was said by many priests, rabbi, and the apostle paul in the bible, you can look up the verses on apostle pauls accounts on it within the KJV of the bible even, this was a practice by christians even before islam existed as a religion, literally before the quran was written... thank you for clearing the air, and supporting your sisters in faith

I’m a catholic Christian who veils. Corinthians 11 vs 2-16 speaks about veiling. Im quite shocked that this is even debate considering that Christianity has existed for over 2000 years . Furthermore, our religious ”ancestors “ the Jews, also veiled.

i just dont understand why so many people have opinions on what others do with their bodies and clothing! many cultures around the world have veiled for thousands of years, its only recently that widespread islamophobia has distorted people’s perception of veiling. i always compliment hijabis on their hijab when i see them, i find it absolutely beautiful! i occasionally veil as a witch myself, it just protects your energy. and heck, even if you do it as a sense of style, do you! whatever makes you happy.
