What is most appalling is that I am just 22 and yet I can relate to what Shobha ma'am says. The minor detail that caught my attention was that ma'am thought that it was really okay to not go to those parties where conversations are all about which new brand and how much money. I think we all suffer from this constant need of 'fitting in' when it is absolutely unnecessary. I love her honesty as well.

I am an ardent follower of Algebra Talks, this of Shobhaa De on the Indian Elite somehow shook me inside. I see the same almost in mine own, wonder what is there for those who sleep and feed on money. It is utterly depressing to think of what would the Caligulas of future would give to the society. Thanks Shobhaa for revealing it, we are full of contradictions, hope we start changing for the better.

Algebra - Please bring in more speakers like Shobhaa De. I liked how she spoke on so many topics and touched upon so many issues which any other celebrity wouldn't even dare to comment. I always wondered growing up in Bombay that why someone like Shobha De get away with such persona? You know being around Marathi (Sivsena) domination and fear. Now I know because she is Marathi herself. If she was North Indian, would have been different story.

But I like her honesty!

There are many more people to cover than Shobhaa De. Nothing against her but are we limitising our viewpoint.

I’m amused that most of the people allude to Arnab and call him some name; “Not nuanced”, “hypocritical”.... I feel mostly he is called all these because because he is numero uno and anti-establishment for last 65 plus years and finally anti-corrupt. Most of pseudos don’t like him because he is very intelligent, paradigm shifter, extremely industrious and connects completely with aspirational class. Arnab is self made man and he has no problem with elite who are self made and not hypocritical most of folks on this platform;-) How much Shobha De cried because hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri Pandits are raped brutally, killed in a very heinous way and driven out of their ancestral land. Having said that, not one human being should be touched leave alone lynched because of whatever they do. We should let the law of the land deal with it.
