I don't have access to the helmet for the next few days, but from memory there's nothing to remove - the sections at the top of the cheekpads are thinner to leave room for the spectacle arms. I guess there's a limit to how many combinations of frames and heads they can take into account and it can't work for everyone. I hope you find a way to accommodate them. Cheers, Tony

The owners manual lists the compatible intercom as the B902SK. I can't find reference to such a model on either Nolan or Shark sites. From looking at the helmet, I would expect a Sharktooth intercom to fit well. The latest model is the Sharktooth 4, which we are hoping to have in stock soon. Cheers, Tony

If you can stretch to a D-Skwal 3 then the upgrades are worth it - better liner and you also get the Pinlock, chin curtain and breathguard. There's no difference in shell sizes between the two models. Cheers, Tony

Hi David, If you're happy to switch from the Speed-R's D-rings to a micrometric buckle then this D-Skwal 3 is worth considering, as are the LS2 Vector 2 and AGV K3. If you'd rather stay with D-rings then I'd look at the Shark Spartan GT Pro and HJC's RPHA-71 and i71. Links to our reviews below. It depends how much value you place on a sun visor and/or a Pinlock insert. The K1 S lacks both. By the time you've paid extra for the K1 S Pinlock it's only approx £10 more than a D-Skwal 3, so that's no biggie. If you want a sun visor that's a bit harder to address. You'll have the added cost of a spare tinted visor, and the added hassle of having to swap. Some people are happy with that, especially if they aren't daily riders and don't ride at night. Ive got this helmet for a few months now and i must say its pretty quiet

Would you say this model and the i3 are exactly the same in terms of performance? Like the noise isolation is the same on both helmets? ‘Cause that’s my biggest concern, while I don’t care about the led light the rear lights since I don’t usually ride at night

@@Itspako8 yes atleast i tried them both on in the store and they felt almost identical, the only difference is the weight

I prefer the D-Skwal of those two helmets, but the most important factor is fit for your head, so I'd suggest trying both on and going for the one that suits your head best. Cheers, Tony

If you mean the K5-S then that has a composite-fibre shell and is a more advanced construction than the Shark. It's an old model now, so if you have the option of a new one and it fits well then I'd say it'd make a good choice. But I'd have a D-Skwal 3 that fits over a K5-S that doesn't, any day of the week. The fit of the K3 suited my head slightly better than the D-Skwal 3 so I'd choose that one. If it was the other way round I'd have no qualms about buying the Shark as there's not much between the two helmets. Cheers, Tony
