Here is what you should do, 1 Hire a team of Attorneys 2 Direct those Attorneys to file a restraining order forbidding the winners name being disclosed. Yes, It can be done with the right court arguments. 3 Completely disappear from where you live and hang out. 4 Don't bother to try and make money, focus on keeping what you won. 5 Consider how long you may live and only spend half the amount divided by the number of years you will live. No more. The other half of the remainder split into halves and you can invest in gold silver and real estate and other hard assets, and the other half in soft market investment such as stocks and bonds and other investment instruments. Don't trust anybody without doing your own homework and controlling the bottom line yourself. Don't hand the keys to your wealth to other in hopes they won't rip you off, because they will. Live modestly and never tell anyone of your real wealth unless it is absolutely necessary.

a question about number 2, dont i have to do that before winning? to start off, i would win the lottery from a state that legally allows anonymity, but even then, wont i have to write up the agreement or contract or restraining order before i win? or do i have to win it first and then step number 2?

There needs to be some sort of investing in there to secure your winnings and into savings plans. What's your take on Government Bonds? They also have a high rate of return, so essentially, you're getting all the money lost to state taxes, Fed taxes and other fees back in time. Unfortunately, most banks only secure up to $250,000, so if you put in $2,000,000, and market crashes or whatever, you've lost $1,750,000.

I'd choose the annuity, but if I change my mind and go for the lump sum, then I would have to hire 2-3 reputable money management firms to handle my money. I give each company an equal amount of money to manage/invest to reduce the risk of losing all my money. That's the only way I would be able to sleep at night. 🙂

The main thing I will do is to remain anonymous since my state allows me to do so. I will tell no one other than my wife. Under no circumstances will I tell my children because I don't want them to think they are entitled to anything. I will not spend any money for at least one year. Next, assemble my financial team and protect it from taxes. I will start an LLC for future generations for my family. After one year, I will do some traveling across the globe. I will make a few charitable contributions to organizations that I deem worthwhile that make an honest effort to mankind.

For a hypothetical argument, let's sat that someone won $50 million after all the taxes were paid. I would take this money, and put it into a trust fund not in my name. From that fund, I would place about 1% into another trust fund for grants and loans to people whom need it. I would allow an attorney to set up the paperwork such that I could use what money was given away as a tax write - off, and then have everyone contact the attorney for the paperwork. Instead of buying or building a big house, I would build a moderately - sized apartment complex such that I can make some moderate residual income each month after all the fees, repairs and such was deducted. Another idea would be to take some online classes to help with working with this money. Finally, I would invest the rest in government bonds and other investing instruments. Hopefully, I can live very reasonably on about $2 to $5 million for a while until the monthly dividends start coming back to the initial trust fund I started.

My own advice: 1) Spend 1/3 on paying debts, on buying assets (like property, cars, etc), on giving to close family members, (but make sure not to give a 2nd time cause they'll keep coming back if you do), etc... 2) Save 1/3 (in separate banks and preferably separate banks in more than 1 country) 3) Invest 1/3 (diversify into various stocks/cryptos/precious metals/etc) 4) Move to another country Of course, the above depends on how much you've won. If it's a lot, then I'd do the above. If it's not a lot, then paying back debt is the most important and buying your own property (to live in, not to invest in) is the 2nd most important.

One piece of advice I heard that I wholeheartedly agree with is that you should take a chunk of the money, not a large chunk or a chunk of money and go on a spending spree and get it out of your system. If you win $50 million, take $1 million and go on a spending spree. If you win 5 million after taxes you might only wanna take 100,000. Gotta be smart. But still, get it out of your system!

8:37 Staying anonymous is not possible in many states where winners are required to do a press conference. One state though allowed the winners to cover their faces with the giant check. I think they also created an LLC for themselves which is what was written on the giant check.

I really don’t understand the lack of anonymity in 2023. Too much is going on in the world for an individual to advertise they have large sums of money. All states need to get on board and provide winners the choice to stay anonymous for their own safety

Remain anonymous, hire tax attorney, accountant, not spend money until investment income comes in. If it’s a large lotto winning take annuities and set up a trust to collect the lotto winning. So if you died before receiving 20 years of annuity payments, the trust will continue to get the payments and your family/friends or whoever you set up the trust to give $ to. Do some good for the poor the needy but do not advertise it . Let your accountant /attorney do it.

something missed out in this video is the persons age, if you're 18 and win 50 million it's very different to if you're 80 and win 50 mill if you're 18 50m will last you the rest of your life if you're smart if you're 80 you have at best 10-20 years left so you could go and splurge it all ( in a reasonable amount of time)

Sweep accounts and the use of networked bank accounts that provide as much as $50 million or more in FDIC insurance on bank deposits by spreading a deposit amongst a network of banks with one control account for the networked accounts can help with rhe lack of insurance coveragr problem. Private deposit insurance can increase the coverage limits even higher.

When I win a big lottery jackpot, the first thing I will do after waking up on the floor from fainting is breathe, lol… I’d stay anonymous, except for my daughter, I’d tell no one, not even my son, with good reason lol. My plan is similar to Barbara, give myself some time to learn my options but I’d find a banking and trust set up that is best for the amount I have. As for spending, I’d make sure my children and I are debt free, then cover basic living for a while… for example, I’d pay all utilities up for a year or so, make sure I have a good running car, a nice safe home and eat healthier, now that I can afford all organic, lol. I’ll likely do a little vanity spending, like new clothes and massages while taking some time to learn where my money will be best utilized before making any major financial decisions. I want to enjoy the win but not blow it all on a 3 month-weekend, 😂

Unfortunately in Canada you have to have a press release. Also in Canada no taxes on lottery winnings. I does look like each person has their own opinion, What I would do give as little info as possible. Due to press releases I would look at a new home in a new city ASAP. I would allocate a percentage for immediate, gift and savings investment. ASAP i would take large chunk and get a high yield short term term deposit. I would take an investment course

I would likely apply a mixture of the Sharks advice, and then would calculate just how much total money I plan to give away over the course of a few years to family, friends, strangers and charity; and then I would create a liquid account for just those needs; whereas I would cautiously dole portions of it out as various needs arise. I would than invest a decent amount into a number of precious metals funds as a hedge against inflation. I would than take a small portion for investments for which I choose to try my hand at. Most importantly is that I would first secure a minimum amount into low risk accounts that preserve the principle, so as to ensure as best as is possible, that if everything else I did fails, that I would at least have enough remaining in secure accounts, so that I would never be broke again.

I would go for some high yield dividend ETFs like JEPI, SCHD depending on the interest rates of the time. A few years ago when rates were near zero, I'd be much more heavy on ETFs. Now you can get good interest rates for the first time in a long time.

Don't trust a bank until you thoroughly understand bank bail-in laws. And consider putting part of it in other countries. think abou stores of wealth like jewels, artwork and the like. Also learn city state and federal taxes in different states. and learn about LLC's and Trusts. Write a will. Consider some rental residential real estate. Consider conservative investments that pay good well established dividends. Consider helping rational start-ups. Very strange that none of these Shark Tank people suggested what they are doing.

@@elaines5179 I'd be more worried about a brokerage than a bank. Deposits are insured by the FDIC up a quarter million dollars so I would probably be visiting several dozen banks. If one of those banks failed I wouldn't be in a huge amount of trouble. The brokerage, on the other hand, is a lot more dangerous.

Anyone who’s ever called someone to ask for money can tell you that they’d NEVER call EVERYONE they know to run a crazy test on them. What if most of them don’t have any money in the first place? Be selfish or be broke. I rather go broke helping everyone I can then to hoard everything as I watch my working class friends and family struggle. When I go to my deathbed, all my karma is what is coming with me through deaths gates, not my material wealth, that stays here. To each their own tho. Life is too short to judge anyone else’s life decisions.
