Question- I’m coming from the old vertex cordless. I just got the Stratos cordless. Somehow it’s not as bright (easy to see dirt) and it’s louder. I also detest the LCD and the fact that I can’t choose when to boost power, it won’t detect carpet and to even check the battery it has to be on and loud for a while due to the display. Is this one more comparable to the old Vertex cordless or am I doomed to have to change with the times.

In the video, you said you’d get into the details of why it won, which implies that you’re (at least briefly) compare it to the other top choices in the midrange category. Which you didn’t do. I would think the fact that you chose this model over Shark’s own “next level” Stratos would be a very obvious point to address. Why Vertex Pro over Stratos?

I want to THANK YOU for keeping your videos so short and to the point. I’m not sure what the algorithm does for others but there are too many creators making these 25 minute videos that drag on through unboxings and tests, and blah blah. Your content is absolutely unparalleled in this space, and I’d love to see this format continue to expand well beyond vacuums!!

I have this vacuum and it’s great! A con for me is the foldable joint part wore out after about a year and a half of owning it. I do use that vacuum a lot, as I have 4 hairy dogs. However, I was able to solve that problem by ordering that particular part from Shark for $40.

Same, mine broke. Also, it lost quite a bit of suction after about 9 months regardless of cleaning all the parts and filters. I had similar experiences with Shark in the past and hadn't purchased anything from them in a long prior to this vacuum. I am mad at myself that I spent this much money on something that I should've known wouldn't last.

hi, first i love your videos as iv been on a vacuum research kick and im a fan of how many tests you do and the quality of your footage and explanations. but one thing i think would be a great and important addition to your list of things you look at would be reliability and serviceability. things like materials used and parts availability and ease of being able to access those parts. for example iv seen many people talk about how a huge bonus for a brand like riccar being they use premium materials and are also fully serviceable yourself and every part is available to purchase. and even tho sharks seem to work great in reviews yours included, iv seen many other people talk about them lacking in long term reliability and having basically 0 serviceability or parts availability. as someone who likes the buy once cry once mentality i think this would be a very important piece of info for someone like myself. hope you see this and consider the idea !

I bought the Stratos on eBay as a supposedly returned unit for around 200 shipped. Very happy with it and the power head almost never plugs up with the debris my parrots make. There wasn't a 2 battery option as it was pretty new and I still haven't found a deal on another battery yet. My old original Duo clean the hose in the head was constantly plugging up with bird seed it couldn't pull through the hose so I upgraded the vacuum. Only bad part is batteries for the old one were easy to find cheap and I had 2 Chargers and 4 batteries for it.

Yeah, that’s the funny trick you can do with these shady resellers. They just cut the seal and open it up and put it back and then call it open box and then they can give you a huge discount so that they get the sale without breaking the contract for minimum advertised price I got set of electronic drums for about 30% less and when they arrived, you could see literally the only thing that was done was the tape was cut on the box. None of the seals had been broken on any of the wrapping or boxes. You’ll notice these resellers always seem to have an endless supply of open box or store returns or demos :-)

I can confirm that this shark vacuum won't get tangled up with hair. I have 4 daughters and they all have long hair (so do I) and I never had to pull hair out of the brushes. I also have one mid tier Roomba and one top tier and I have to pull our hair out *daily* and our hair constantly snaps the roller brushes long before they are supposed to be replaced. So definitely 10/10 for the shark.

It lasted 9 months and we found out Shark vacuums cannot be repaired. The brush roller stopped rolling and we tried removing screws and it will not allow. I would like to know what vacuum any brand that will compare for under $300. Thank you so very much in advance for your time.

My big question is are the cordless stick vacuums like this one meant for whole house cleaning and can they replace a full size upright? I always hesitate to get a cordless stick over a regular vacuum because of the small dust cup. How often would it need to be emptied? I have a dog that sheds constantly and I tried an off brand stick cordless from Amazon but it didn’t pick up anything hardly.

I'd like to see your videos focus more on usability long-term. Easy of cleaning is the most important, hence why I hate the Dysons (they have to come apart just to empty). Over time, a vacuum can really have areas inside of it that you just can't (easily) clean.

The Stratos cordless and Vertex cordless are very similar. The Stratos cordless adds Clean Sense IQ to automatically boost suction when dirt is detected and the Odor Neutralizer pods. The model numbers IZ682H and IZ662H help you find the exact vacuum. The model names can change and the colors and options can change but the model number will stay the same for each specific vacuum.

Why don't you ever assess repairability in your reviews? Just about all of these cordless and mainstream brands are some of the most unrepairable junk you'll ever deal with. These brands don't even sell you wear parts like brush rolls or belts, it is totally unreasonable. Vacuum's have been repairable since the 2000's

I haven’t needed to repair my V11 in the 3.5 years I had it. Of course I take care of it and don’t do stuff like drop it😆. If I want to sell it then it would be a pain to clean the interior cyclone dust chamber which can’t be easily separated, a big downside to “unrepairability”. Parts like the bin rail, whole cyclone assembly, whole motor assembly, cleaner head wheels and cleaner head rubber/plastic can be bought separately out of warranty as shown in support videos not accessible through KZfaq but through warranty registration. At least with Dyson, their machines seem to be unrepairable because of how difficult it is to find separate individual parts, with the machine essentially being multiple modules which are assembled together. If there is damage, you replace the whole module instead of the specific relevant parts in that module. They are repairable, you just have to contact Dyson to purchase those modules separately, but you can’t buy individual parts(for example just the motor electrical system by itself instead of the motor and handle module).

I have this Vertex Pro but it’s the older version. This is the new Vertex pro that is basically an improvement t that uses the Stratos which I have that vaccum. The older version doesn’t have extra battery charger and the wand can’t bend. This newer version wand can bend like the Stratos. However, both battery sucks. The battery life truly sucks. This is the newest version of the Vertex pro. Mine is about 2 years old. The problem with these cordless vaccum is the battery only last for 30 minutes on high. That’s not enough time. Even on low, it would only give you 40-45 minutes. Just a disappointment. It’s a great vaccum don’t get me wrong. Very good but just battery life and also the roller is hard to clean in the back and you can’t take out any hair or paper stuck in the back.
