Jack Zuvelek and James Buchanan pitched their business The Body Consultants’ aim is “to elevate the human status quo”. Andrew Banks asked “whether or not the TV behind them was going to do anything?” and the Sharks were met with a snide response from James “Our belief is you’re buying us.” and not their business concept?
Company Website: www.thebodyconsultants.com/
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

I watch the US and UK version of the show. There's one of these on every series that barely invests. The one on the UK show owned a banking business. It's amazing to me that she's so reluctant to ever invest, that's kinda the purpose of a bank to invest in things. Interestingly all 3 of the non-investors are women. Might be to do with the fact that women are generally more risk-averse.

@MDYBLZ
@MDYBLZ 4 жыл бұрын
Well, 50 isn't far from senior citizen age(65) and you ragging on him for being young makes no sense here. He treats 50 year olds like their body has a harder time functioning, which it completely does. He may say it in a less thought out way but he still has the right idea when it comes down to it. Personally in a town I've lived in you qualify for a senior discount at 52. The question of if 50 is old; yes it definitely is. It's not as old as can be but your comment about him holds no weight with this situation.
@EllieUltra
@EllieUltra 4 жыл бұрын
@@MDYBLZ Actually, it does, if you watch the episode, he's talking to a room full of people ~50 who can easily touch their toes. Most 50 year olds can touch their toes just fine unless they're morbidly obese, but that would apply to someone of any age not just someone who is 50. He clearly thinks being 50+ means you have a hard time doing basic body movements because of your age, which is more in line with someone who is a senior citizen or someone who is obese. But thanks for trying!
@MDYBLZ
@MDYBLZ 4 жыл бұрын
@@EllieUltra You must not have read what I typed. Fitness and general physical mobility start to decline at 45. At the age of 50, not being able to touch your toes isn't as much of an extreme claim as you would like to think. Just because the people in the room can do it doesn't mean most can and you saying that just because the judges can do it makes his statement invalid makes no sense in the least. "Thanks for trying!"
@EllieUltra
@EllieUltra 4 жыл бұрын
@@MDYBLZ You're being really extra. There's a massive difference between mobility starting to decline and not being able to clothe yourself properly by the age of 50. Unless they've had a physical injury or very overweight, most people can put their own shoes on well into their old age. I've worked with the elderly and my husband is a gym instructor and it's extremely rare to see someone at 50 who can't tie their own shoes, even most of the seniors can do it. So come off it. @@shadowspire You sure about that champ? Scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking on "our team" still produces the 404 error. I had a employer who once told me that he quit smoking because he had invested $150 to be hypnotized, only to discover he couldn't be( hypnotized); he was apparently so angry about this ,he quit. This killed me, because,- applying the same thought process, - why not be angry that you were paying for a product that was killing you? Or just be angry that you were addicted, period?To me, who struggled for a decade to finally quit, it was the dumbest thing I ever heard.If it was just about wasting money, or feeling foolish spending money,it would be easy. That's what I think of these guy's fitness concept; if you need a 20 something babysitter looking over your shoulder-, you have bigger issues.You need to ask yourself why exercising, or remaining fit, is important to you, in the same way you'd consider quitting a behavior that was proactively harmful.The results are equally innevitable.

The UK version is my favourite. It seems less staged than the others. Like it's rare to get a sob story on the UK version. The dragons (UK version is called Dragons Den) are generally far more ruthless on the UK show too I find. Kevin O'Leary has been a guest judge on the UK version and he doesn't seem like a villain on that one, just another savvy dragon that always puts himself first.
