Haaland was influential in the UCL run of course but he didn’t make them win it considering he didn’t score in the semi-final or final, it was more of a team effort and he was the missing piece of the puzzle. While I agree Mbappe didn’t have a great season overall, diminishing the World Cup is criminal: it’s the biggest competition in football and Mbappe was arguably the best player in it and scored a hattrick in the final.

Haaland is definitely second for what he did this season, but Mbappe is clear. Mbappe carried France to the WC Final and then scored a hattrick. He couldn't have done much more while Haaland went missing in the Semi Final and Final of the Champs.
