To answer your question Efra, ASEAN means Association of South East Asian Nations. (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar & the Phils.) These countries do these music festivals and some sporting events every 2 or 3 years; and each country send delegates to participate in these events to promote social and cultural development in the region.

They actually did Tilaluha next! You have to listen to it-their vocals were top-notch. I hope you react to all five songs. ASEAN stands for Association of South East Asian Nations, which includes the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Singapore and others (I can’t remember!)

FYI: Their outfit particularly their "Jacket" is, I believe a very modern version of formal wear for men called Barong Tagalog. The barong Tagalog (lit. SB19 had a smashing performance. The layers of their voices in Tilaluha and Mapa gave me goosebumps. And of course the nostalgic Go Up, the song that made them viral. They are as sharp as ever. Added info on their looks. Their shirts & jackets are modern barongs, the traditional/formal tops of men. As usual, I enjoyed your reaction.

Can you actually believe that despite doing amazing in every aspects of their craft like stell making their choreographies, pablo or John paulo nase composing their songs, justin as their creative director an all rounder group they experience bashful comments and hates from their countrymen which makes us A'tin sad they don't deserve the hate and doubts from other people. I believe their work speak for themselves, they don't need to prove it because their work is very much visible. So amazing Mahalima.

Literally no one can cover this song live easily. See how intense this song is and the choreography that Sb19 gives with their songs. You will surely find it difficult to imitate their energy during this Live. That's why I have to say that this group is one of a kind in this world. I've never seen a band that could play intensely live with stable vocals like this. Are they even real. I'm sure they are one of the best out there.

It was actually raining lightly in the set that time (you could see the droplets zooming down through the strobe lights, but it's very faint). Fortunately it was a light rain and it didn't last through the whole performance. Funny enough, their next song after this was "Tilaluha" which is a word play that means "Stop Tears" and the word for "Stop" is actually the Filipino word we specifically use to describe "the rain lets up" (yes, we have a specific verb for this scenario).

Watching this again from the Feature Friday special. Totally agree that this song is like a hybrid on its own. I believe it somehow catapulted the new era of PPOP as a genre. And yes, it’s one of the best performances of this song. Same with Tilaluha and Mapa. Please check them all out, too! ✌️

I agree with you Waleska. This is probably the best live dance performance of the group overall. I mean, the choreography and the vocals are top notch! However, all of their other performances here are equally great. I hope you can check them all out. Also, perhaps it's also time to check some of their dance practices. You may start with GO UP DANCE PRACTICE which started their popularity in 2019 when it became viral. Then WHAT DANCE PRACTICE. Stell is their main choreographer. If you watch WHAT MV MAKING FILM episode 2, you can see how the choreography was made. Stell had a breakdown because of the pressure. 😭

They're performing outdoor right in front of the Cultural Center of the Philippines' Main Theatre, hence, the red flag beside the Philippine flag. Interestingly, they're singing 'What?" with reference to 'watawat' which literally means 'flag' in front of those flags that embodies both the Filipino identity and culture with so much pride, and what the song is basically about.
