First show of the season for #projectSPL and it was entertaining. Got a few lil issues to work out but its all part of the process of getting loud AND reliable. Check out the video for some great footage of the windshield shattering!!!

I had a stock windshield, and it never broke in 1989 Chevy k-1500 pickup , only hit 165.5 max at windshield, i clamped it at 30k 16 Orion xtr 2250 running 2 ohms mono per coil with 18 1000 CCA 16 volt batteries and 2 200 amp alternators charging at 17.5 volts . So you breaking at 167.7 makes sense too me , keep up the great work I watch this channel all the time👍🏻

If anyone follow Project SPL build. Derek specifically say hes building a stock build. Modifying the windshield will put him in a different class.

And that's the problem he's gonna have with keeping the windshield in. Only thing I can think that would help is to put a stripper pole from top center above the windshield to the floor but I think that would put him in another class as well

Damn cheap windshield! Hopefully the new one will last a little bit longer! Still not bad scores for a crappy windshield! That winch is awesome! Love your dog too! Tuned in for the next video and hopefully the windshield will hold and that score climbs tremendously.

I'm not sure the rules of stock class like I believe u went for but adding a striper pole, if not one there and some steel all the way around the windshield frame would help out a lot! The roof goes up and the sides flex basically leaving the glass to hang out all by itself then it gets hit and shatters. Maybe in the dash right we're the defrost area is and a lil bit back if you put some holes basically just so any pressure that is going into the windshield wedge there can get deflected down instead of having nowhere to go as it gets hit by the next wave. Idk if that made any sense at all or if thats something you can even do or not, but figured I'd say it and see if anyone has done that before or something, idk. I'll shut up now...lol

Someone please help. Can you safely wire two different 4 ohm coaxial speakers to the same channel on an amp? For example can i wire a 4 ohm kicker speaker to a jl audio 4 ohm coaxial speaker in parallel (giving me a final 2 ohm load) and connect it to the same channel on an amp? Thanks.

You need to use a primer like Sika Aktivator before putting the adhesive on the truck. It will clean and prepare the surface for the best seal. My personal experience is that the 3m brand is the best adhesive.

In my experience, cars/trucks made in the early 2000's and older are made of better steal and tougher materials(steel versus aluminum) making the vehicles provide better bass and spl without sound deadening them from top to bottom. Also less complicated computers throughout the car so there's extra space than yu would in an install for a brand new car. Some headunits in new cars cant be swapped out without getting a 200$ adapter kit.

While Project SPL is pretty much complete and out playing. I'm over here just started ripping out seats smh. Damn the windshield went into protect fast! The impedance was too low on the glass due to the sun heating it lol. Hopefully the new one has a higher impedance :) :). #StopWindshieldsFromGoingIntoProtect #BassJokes

can you have plexie glass or bulletproof glass for doing SPL or DB Drag Racing could you please let me know because if you could that would be a better choice and more then likely get better DB reading I'm sure of ....
