Zombies are almost always slow moving as they are people who have died and then came back to life. I think you are probably confused by the more recent so-called "zombie" films and TV shows, where people are simply infected with some sort of virus. (28 Days Later, The Last of Us, etc. )

Dawn Of The Dead came out in 1978. Shaun Of The Dead and the remake of Dawn Of The Dead came out the same year - 2004

_Dawn of the dead_ is the title of a 1970s movie by George Romero, a follow-up (after a long gap) to his _Night of the living dead._ In it, a group of men and women shelter in a shopping mall, intending to live in the difficult-to-find administrative offices which they originally access from a helicopter on the roof. In theory, the mall has everything the need for as long as they like. But... And that's the movie that this is named after, making the main character Shawn so that you get the rhyme with Dawn. The remake was indeed about the same time as _Shawn,_ but I haven't seen it as I didn't see any reason why the 1978 version needed to be remade.

Did you notice that in the beginning Shawn's snotty young co-worker Noel turns into the zombie pushing the grocery carts at the end? Yup, he planned on doing more with his life. 🤣

Nightmare city was the origin of running zombies. 1980. Another real early running zombies was Return of the Living Dead. My personal favorite zombie movie.

I’m think Denise was referring to living “Infected” zombies but these are the classic walking “Dead” zombies. Living Infected= possible. Walking Dead= not possible.

"Return Of The Living Dead" (The OG/First Running Zombies), "Dawn of The Dead" (both 70's and 04' are good). "Night Of The Living Dead" (Both 60's/90's version are good), "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things", "One Cut Of The Dead" (One of the most original zombie films recently. France already did a crappy remake).
