I live in Nevada (Vegas area) currently been looking into getting into a shaved ice business. It’s usually hot here all year but researching to see if there’s gonna be times where the season is too slow to operate.

I am starting a shaved ice business starting July the 2. I have really enjoyed watching you you tube channel. I plan on buying your corse soon. I bought a enclosed trailer and I am in the process of building it

Hey, just came across you. Thanks for the great content, I watched your fundamentals video first. I have been considering opening a shaved ice business since going to Hawaii in May and falling in love with them. The only issue is I live in the UK. What are your thoughts about opening a shaved ice business in a country with such a temperate climate?

You would do amazing in the summers! Many here in the states are only open for the summer. I don't see why that wouldn't work in the UK.

@@lhefe85 Personally I like the Swan SI-100e best. It's a block ice machine, and I don't know how hard it will be to find block ice near you. If you would rather use a cube shaver, then the Hatsuyuki HC-8e is one of the best out there.

I say close in the winter but open on the real hot days in the winter because Florida is up and down

In the off season run special. Days of business Wednesday to Saturday half a day on Sunday close Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday buddy day buy two for the price of one. Thursday 50 percent off. Friday happy hour get a dollar off. Saturday buy one get one free. These are for your off season special a big seller. Location location location is where it's at. Store by subdivision a good pick. By a family park. On the street with a school and subdivision. If prices are high low gross. Prices are low with specials high gross. Any day with gross $500 and more not a bad location.

What do you think a snow cone trailer should cost I recently found a trailer set up and ready “turn key” it looks to be clean and in good condition priced just under 20k is that too much start up cost for this industry

Depends on where your at i think 20k is a lot if thats your saving and not a grant...

I'm facing that dilemma myself.. But it is a truck for $30k and has 200k miles. It would be setup with freezers, cabinets and the basics but because I want a Snowizard Snowball machine (I have to buy myself) I would have to finance the truck. I was approved but by the time I make their payments I will have paid $80k. Is there a machine that is USA made that will work for 20 years. This is my retirement job! I don't want to spend everything I've got to go into a seasonal business
