Shaving with a 100 year old antique rolls razor.

Rolls Razor antique clean up and demonstration.
I like the idea of using an old bit of engineering doing its intended job 100 years after it was first made.
I'm probably the first person to use this razor for 70 or 80 years. and its still performing like it did when it was first used.

My dad was in the 158th infantry in New Guinea & the Philippines during WW2. I still have the Rolls razor he carried with him all the way to Japan & back! Amazingly well designed & made unit.

I've been wet shaving for 40 odd years ,I might look at buying one of those and a box of plasters just in case lol

I thought exactly the same about it but didn’t cut myself once. I actually did buy another one off eBay (£10) as a gift for a friend.

They shave surprisingly well! You have to treat it more like a straight razor as opposed to a DE style razor, if you know what I mean. 👍

@jimmyrustler8983 absolutely I was really surprised how well it worked for such an old piece of kit.

@@Brett440 Yes, it has a bit of a knack to it, I found it worked really well angling the blade ever so slightly like you would a straight razor, which the safety bar assists in by making an audible click sound as you touch it to your skin. Using pre/post shave helps enormously too, I like to use 3P, but it has almond oil in it which isn't everyones cup of tea.
