If I was a betting man I would put a heap on Tszyu. He can get caught but he's got a strong chin and just gets up and walks forward and dominates. Thurman can't knock Tszyu out, he's not strong enough while Tszyu is plenty strong to knock Thurman out.

Thay train left years ago. Ill even point you to the end of his career. It was the Danny Garcia fight. Danny shattered his right elbow with shot after shot directed at the arms. The plan was to shut down the arm and go for the kill, but he couldnt get it donenin time. Keith never recovered and its been downhill from there.

On paper though Tszyu should beat Thurman by walking him down, bringing the pressure, cutting off the ring with body shots for a mid to late stoppage. However, Thurman is the better boxer, can he reverse the clock? Seems unlikely but Thurman would surprise everyone.

That's a great match up and it should be spoken of more often. Problem is PPV in the US and Mexico. It will need to be able to really sell and since there are no US fighters, the casuals (which make up the majority of PPVs) won't really take notice.

Although the only truism in boxing is the "puncher's chance", I still have K. Thurman losing clearly and even painfully. We cannot discount a talented former champion ever, but the circumstances under which this fight is taking place- a long lay-off, a new and heavier weight class, T. Tszyu's style- do much to reduce the former Welterweight's odds. I hope Timmy's flat-footed "Mexican" style gives Thurman a reason to appreciate the come-forward, aggressive and powerful style that many Mexicans favor. Maybe afterwards he can take a ride in a nice lowrider while listening to some old school N.W.A. 🖖

I don't get how people keep saying "Tim just moves forward". The guy has very good ring awareness. It's not that he moves forward, it's that he knows how to stay in front of his opponent. He stalks them, pivots, cuts them off and corners them. Once he finds his range, he's locked on.

I hope Thurman wins by KO hopefully by the 10th round. Thurman is one of the most well rounded boxers ever, imo. He has a ton of heart, is a switch hitter, he can move around the ring well, heavy hands, accurate, technical. Hopefully, he is fully prepared and wins because Thurman brings excitement to the sport never in a boring fight. LETS GO THURMAN

@Alphasports576 I want Thurman to win because he is an old school fighter he can box but doesn't shy away from making it a dog fight. He doesn't run forever he can fight in the pocket as well as take in breathers while still be effective. I hope he wins so that he and Vergil Ortiz Jr. can have a match that would be such an interest match up at 154. One thing I have to point out is that Thurman has been dropped before by being lousy and obviously not being evasive enough. Even though he can move well, I believe that will be his number one key to victory, being razor sharp.

To be fair, I do believe the cards are all stacked against Keith. Smaller, inactive, fighting Tim who’s actually decent at cutting the ring and layering sneaky shots and delivers vicious body work. Tim is and should be considered the favorite. But if you know your boxing history, you’d know inactivity didn’t mess with the greats. Some returned greater. If Keith can be as sharp as he was against Barrios, that may be enough for him to win a decision against Tim imo. If he’s BETTER this time around? There’s a chance Tim will touch the canvas, possibly more than once.

I like Shawn, he made a lot of friends while down under. But this is some talk-up shit, which helps both fighters in the long run. But if you know boxing, yes, styles make fights. And Keith's style is a gift to Tszyu. He will be Tim's Sharmba Mitchell, blunted by a ramrod jab and thudding body shots. Watch every pro fight Tszyu has had. How many times have you seen him backed up? The guy doesn't know how to take a backward step, Keith is in for a shellacking.

Maybe Thurman will make it to the 6th round, but I will be surprised if he does. I saw how Barrios hurt him with a body shot, it looks like he's got a tough chin, but can't handle body shots as well. I don't think Thurman's fought anyone with the punching power of Tim Tszyu. People love to say styles make fights, that's all good as long as they can handle their opponent's power. Like Mike Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face."

The inactivity from Thurman will be his downfall for this fight. Thurman hasn’t fought in over 2 years while this will be Tszyu’s 4th fight in less than a calendar year.
