How is Shawn only an inch taller in the back lat spread when A, he's three inches taller than Lee, B, Shawn's legs are closer together, and C, his legs are straighter. It makes no sense. Some of these comparisons seem so off sometimes.

Great match up, two of my all time superstar bodybuilders! Reminds me of high school in the late 90s starting bodybuilding and rushing off to the local library to pick up the monthly M&F mags

Have you ever thought about that Lee Priest's photos are in much better quality? You can just see from the posing routine of Shawn Ray in 99 that he was just absolutely peeled!

Personally I have it 4-4. Lee takes the back poses as well as the side tri and most muscular. But Ray takes the 2 front shots, the side chest and, the ab and thigh. Ray has better pecks and a sharper lower body in the side chest. In the abs and thigh he has thicker abs with a smaller waist and better calf display.

I dont get how you could give the abs and thighs to Ray especially based on the reasoning you gave, Lees abs are just as thick with thinner skin and perfect symmetry while Ray has an ab split with worse condition. Also you brought up that Ray has a better calf display (in the cost of his quad display) on the abs&THIGHS, when 1. Lees calves are way bigger 2. Calves arent heavily judged in the pose unless they are a huge weak- or strongpoint which they are not since Lee literally has the better calves. + Where do you see a thinner waist on Shawn?? Their waists are identically wide in the pictures.

Awesome comparison. Two of my favorite bodybuilders. I like that their inner and outer leg development are evenly developed, as opposed to the larger guys with overdeveloped outer thighs. They have very similar body types. I would have to give it to Shawn Ray because of his full back development, both upper & lower. Although Lee Priest is one of my top 5 favorite.

But Marx Max Muscle! 5:23 I hate to break it to you, but those are wrinkles, not striations, in Lee's glutes. And no mention of how blurry Shawn's photos are? I sense some of that trademark MMM favoritism coming into play.

Priest being the winner made sense. He has more mass, is symmetrical and has a decent level of conditioning.

Shawn n I have seen both bodybuilders compete in Cali in the 90's and both are incredible but shawn ray physique was just amazing, I mean people talk about flex Wheeler and lee Labrada physique but Shawn's was beautiful.

@@leonardomoore1868 In my opinion, with the exception of a couple of years where Flex Wheeler was the embodiment of the most perfect male physique literally of all time, Shawn Ray had the most balanced, most aesthetic, and most flawless human male physique of the 1990s, if not in all of bodybuilding history, from head to toe if we consider mass, conditioning, proportion, and overall aesthetics, never mind the fact that Shawn was also one of the greatest posers of all time, up their with Arnold, Frank Zane, Melvin Anthony, and Ed Corney. Kai Green is a good poser too, but Kai’s posing to me is more like “Kabuki Theater” to me than an actual bodybuilding posing routine. Kai does get props, though, for originality and for having great control over his body, considering the amount of mass the guy is carrying.

Two of my favorite bodybuilders of all time, along with Arnold, Flex Wheeler, and Paul Dillett. You can’t go wrong with a 1994 and 1999 Shawn Ray or a 2006 Lee Priest.

both guys had some of the worst side chests in their respective lineups. it's really unfortunate for Lee because his side arm size and separation (check out that bicep) is so outstanding but his delts and pecs let him down big time.

1. Over hyping Lee's conditioning 2. displaying blurry screenshots for Shawn? 3. Bad scaling. All one needs to do is google "Kevin Levrone, Shawn Ray, Lee Priest". It is a reddit post and a picture of all of them standing next to each other. Priest looks like a 10 year old kid. He makes Shawn Ray appear as wide as Paul Dillet.

Shawn's 5'7 while Lee's 5'4. Despite that, they're about 1 inch apart in this comparison.

Go look at the video from 1999 Olympia Shawn is far superior to what is shown in the pictures. It’s not just him either, look at the Pics of Ronnie from that year’s Olympia vs the video. It’s a night and day difference. The pictures from that contest are terrible

Lee Priest was NOT at his best in 2006, and you've made Lee to big in these first few shots. 1997 & 98 were probably Lee's best version ever. I'm not saying Shawn was better, but ehhh.. he was

Shawn Ray is WAY BETTER than Lee Priest. Bigger and better. Better aesthetic, better lat spread... Is no accident that he always beat Lee Priest. Lee only wins, narrowly, on conditioning and arms. Shawn wins everything else.
