There are several theories about the meaning of the song, but Freddie never explained his lyrics and especially not this one, it remains his secret forever. Pls, check out Somebody To Love from the same concert.

Roger taylor says "its pretty obvious what its about", and many of us think its Freddie struggling with his sexuality and being in a relationship with the love of his life (mary) and a religiously conservative family

I always say Freddy was the biggest star on earth now he's the biggest in the sky. He always laid out his heart and soul on that stage and gave the crowd his everything. In turn he soaked it all in making a beautiful circle. All respect to the whole incredible band but Freddy just had IT. He was EVERYTHING. Greatly missed 💖💖💖

Saw them from the second row in 1979. They all left the stage when the "Galileo" section came - no way to re-create the layered vocals live. They were stunning.

Very few artists literally put their soul into their songs when they sing. I listen to all kinds of music and this might sound strange but only two artists come to mind right now; Freddie Mercury and Judy Garland. Judy once said "When I sing, I give blood.". Freddie gives blood.

This is one of Queens BEST lives. Freddie sounds even better live, IMO. I’ve been a huge fan since 1974 and still listen to that God given voice everyday. I still miss him all these years later. BTW, Freddie wasn’t sick when he wrote this song. Several have speculated what it was about, but he refused to discuss the meaning of any of his songs he wrote. Please react to Love of My Life live at Wembley 1986 and Play the Game live at Montreal 1982. So happy to see new Queen fans!!!!

Love this live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!! Watching Freddie is always magical 🔮💎🌟⭐️💫✨ All the band members are brilliant musicians & all have been inducted into the Song Writer’s Hall of Fame & Rock n Roll Hall of Fame on their own merits!! I’m still spellbound when I watch them!! The Bohemian Rhapsody studio version is the most streamed song in the 20th Century pre1990s. 🏆🥇🎼 🎤 🎹 🥁 🎸

If you have not heard the original studio version of this song, I strongly suggest that you do go and listen to it, there is so much more texture because they multi-tracked the hell out of it and the result was totally amazing and the fact that they did it in 1975 is a complete mind blower. I love and prefer Queen live but this one song, I will always direct people to the studio version as well as the live, it is important in understanding the mastermind that is Freddie Mercury. I hope my words sell it for you because I believe you deserve to hear it and Freddie deserves to have the world know that song as he wrote it. Excellent reaction as always, thank you. I don't know why this didn't come up on my feed when you dropped it but I am glad I found it today on the KZfaq main menu.

I can personally attest to the fact that this was AMAZING done live. I wasn't at this show, I saw them in Madison Square Garden in September 1980 during this same tour. Somebody to Love is another good one and my favorite from the concert was a new song off of the album the Game, which this tour was for, is "Save Me" the last song on that album. Oh at the time this song was written, 1974 or 1975, Freddie wasn't sick. The true meaning of the song was never revealed, even to his bandmates and it died with Freddie in 1991.

This is rare talent you don't see anymore. I don't know why but somewhere in the early 2000s' they don't have ppl playing instruments anymore. Or actual singing without the 'Auto Tune' and crap. This is why bands like Queen is still so Iconic. It's Pure Raw Talent.

I remember being a young guy in college(90's) and my friends introduced me to Queen. At that point all I knew of them was "Another One Bites the Dust" I could never thank them enough for expanding my vision beyond Rap/R&B and Rock music. I loved it! As a 100% straight male I cried when he passed away. He can't be replaced😪

It's actually three songs which Freddie wrote in the early 70's and couldn't quite work out what too do with them so he put them altogether, and they couldn't do the start and middle live as most of that is actually Freddie harmonising with himself on the record

1. Was not sick when he wrote this. 2. Most people believe when he’s talking about killing a man. It’s about killing that part of himself he feels he can no longer be tru to. Due to his bi-sexuality. 3. The band never interpreted it. Said they wanted people to self interpret and if it meant something different to different people. Mostly thou. The song was wrote and recorded and became a hit long before he got sick.

I don't remember if you guys reacted to the studio version, but hope you did. I prefer the song live(esp the ones from Wembley) but for a first listen you have to listen to the studio version to get the full experience since they never did the beginning when they did it live. The song isn't about him actually killing someone btw. No one knows what it's about because Freddie never said, but it's more of a metaphor. There's a theory that it's about him killing off his old self and accepting his sexuality, like coming out as gay to himself, which I personally think could be right. But again no one knows. And he was def not singing about being sick. He wrote this in 1975, he didn't have AIDS back then. He didn't find out for sure until 1987, but he knew sonething was wrong a year earlier. But in 1975 and at the time of this concert he obviously didn't know. He stopped touring after he got his diagnosis so you'll never seen him in a live performance with Queen knowing he was sick.
