Goosebumps everytime Slash walks away from the church leaving everyone to play the solo in a different realm. Damn !

This song has been around for years. And I still get chills everytime I hear Slash's guitar solo.

The song is epic. My favorite of theirs.

This is actually part of a trilogy of songs (Estranged and Don't Cry are the other two parts). The lyrics and the videos of the trilogy are based on a short story by Del James called "Without You". Basically the story is about a band called Suicide Solution and their vocalist, Mayne Mann, who is of course supposed to be Axl Rose. Mayne has a girlfriend or wife, Elizabeth. So SS are on tour, and it's the last stop. A tour's last stop most often means one or both of two trends - first, that they end (and start) in their hometown; second, that it's the best show of the tour. Mayne wants to celebrate after the show with Elizabeth, but she's called out of town on business. Mayne's mad, so he picks up a groupie after the show, and they're hooking up in his hotel room. Matter of fact I think there are two girls, they're having a threesome. The drummer comes by, and Mayne offers him a girl; he turns him down. Then it turns out Elizabeth's trip was cancelled at the last moment. She finds out what room he's in, and goes there to surprise him. Mayne hears a knock, thinks his drummer is back, so he answers the door nude with a girl on each arm, nude as well. He's looking right at his wife, and she takes off. He gets dressed and gives chase. She loses him, gets home, and when he finds her, she's shot herself in the head. That is why only half of her face is shown during the funeral.

"Patience", "Sweet Child O Mine", & "Dont Cry!!!!!"

The marriage represents the beginning of the new life together. The funeral represents the end of that life together. All the stuff in between are two Gibson Les Paul guitar solos. The clear message is that guitar solos are life. This is why reactors should never pause or talk during guitar solos.

This was my dad's favourite song by his favourite band. He passed away last year due to cancer and GNR always reminds me of him so always excited to see people reacting to them and their songs. Great reaction.

React to "Don't Cry" by GnR... it's the first chapter to this trilogy. You just reacted to the middle chapter. "Estranged" is the third chapter. "Don't Cry" is my favorite GnR song and it features the late, great Shannon Hoon... the deceased lead singer of the 90s band "Blind Melon".

Axl Rose (frontman) is a classicly trained pianist from childhood. He started writing this song at age 18 in 1981..there is a piano demo here on KZfaq from 1986. Finally in 1991 here recorded/relased his finished recording which hit #3 on the Billboard charts in 1992

Slash's solos are God-like. His musicality, melody and phrasing are better than any thousand-notes-a-minute shredder out here. It's why, 30 years later, I still remember every note of every solo he played on the 'Use Your Illusion' records.

1 - I love how rain in this video is a total, life-ending reason to panic. I get the metaphor, but it's still funny in context. 2 - best guitar solo of all time.

Axl Rose's voice is absolutely ridiculous. His vocal range is astonishing. I saw Guns N' Roses in concert in 1991 and 30 years later I still count it among the top 3 concerts I have ever been too.

This song is the second part of a trilogy of songs that tell a single story, part 1 is "Don't Cry", part 2 is "November Rain" and part 3 is "Estranged". To get the full affect of this song, it really needs to be listened to in context with the other two parts.
