It's been a while. I love his albums "shayne ward" "breathless" but "obsession" just didn't fall in my "liking". But this song actually brings me back to his music. Way to go Shayne!

I agree about 'Obsession'. It was his final album with SyCo and had a few good-ish songs (the song 'Obsession' itself is probably the best of the bunch), but was poor for the most part. The whole album felt very lazily produced compared to his previous releases, and the songs did nothing to bring out Shayne's true abilities as a vocalist. I doubt any of that was Shayne's fault though; SyCo had lost interest in him and so just straight-up squandered a great talent. I seem to remember Shayne scored a three-album contract with his X Factor win, so regarding 'Obsession', you kind of get the impression Simon Cowell was like, "Oh, is he still around? Urgh... I dunno, just throw together one more album so we can fulfill his contract, then send him on his way." You can tell that a lot more care and effort went into 'Closer', which was independently produced and gave Shayne a lot more control and input. :)

In my honest opinion, Shayne Ward is the best singer that's been on any singing competition - X-Factor, American Idol, AGT, The Voice, etc. He didn't need gimicky props n backgrounds. It's just him, the microphone he caresses, the camera he flirts with & a song he makes sweet love to. His singing is pure talent. He updated Somewhere Over the Rainbow & Stand By Me. Those are just 2 examples. Just like Justin Timberlake, Shayne brought sexy back!
