It would be pretty awesome if Lois and Clark took billy under their wing, not just because he's a superhero but because he's a kid in need of a healthy environment, mean the allowed to stay at their house often and provide things for him, growing up with Jordan and Jonathan would be a very great thing for him through their shared experiences as well as open up a lot of potentially great storylines.

I have to say, I kind of love the idea of Superman going to *The Wizard Shazam* of all people. He's just one of those figures I mentally file away as "pure backstory not really part of it" so it feels kinda like Superman breaking the script or... something. It's hard to explain, but it's fun. Also I just like Superman caring so much. He's a sweet guy, he cares a lot, and too many intepretations don't give that enough weight.

Especially since technically the wizard could "deal" with superman. Superman weak to magic.. in fact has zero resistances to magic. sure he can heal fast from the damage but he can be magically imprisoned. and even as fast as superman is... if the wizard snaps his fingers and dumps superman at the edge of the universe... at the leading edge of time and space... it would take superman.... millennia to get home.

Superman asking "who did this to you?" is the purest distillation of the concept of Tranquil Fury, he is so angry that he's calm. Which is terrifying given what Supes can do when pushed, and the Wizard Shazam having the stones to try and justify his robbing a kid of his childhood... he's truly lucky Superman does NOT think he is a god and should pass down judgment like one. Otherwise, magic or no, Wizard Shazam would quickly understand terms like "relativistic speed" and "explosive decompression". Yeah Superman isn't immune to magic; but that means little when you see lightspeed as a casual exercise pace, and regularly tango with gods of the New and Grecian variety.

Kinda funny that he's got a problem with the Wizard doing this to Billy because he's a kid, but his Best Bat Friend Forever collects orphans like Pokemon Cards and he doesn't Bat an eye. Guys you all make great points on How To Train Your Robin but Superman's issue in this Comic specifically is that a child shouldn't be doing this period, not that he's untrained or unsupervised. Hell he even says so on Panel. In other instalments it's different but in this one specifically, this Superman has a problem with Child Heroes being a thing, not just irresponsible Child Heroes being a thing. It's just how they wrote him for this issue. But usually he'd agree with y'all points, and challenge Bats to a Pokemon Battle with Kara, Conner, and Jon. Maybe they'll use the move "Dead Parents" I hear it's Super Effective against Gotham types.

Robins are properly trained and Bruce ain't reckless he doesn't even send them on missions til they are ready both mentally and physically, more of all they are not bound by responsibility like Billy Batson. Now if you say Jason's death here then that will explain you never read any comics because Jason Todd's death was voted by the fans themselves there were 2 options either Batman saves him or he dies at the hands of Joker, the fans chose DEATH

Because Bruce actually looks after the kids he takes in. He makes them his legal wards, lets them stay in his house, allows them to attend school and he's around to guide them. Alfred is also there to act as support. The Wizard bestowed Billy with his powers and then left him to his own devices. A child shouldn't be given that much power without some form of training or guidance, especially when said child is an orphan who's living on the streets to survive. Billy was also acting as a hero by himself until the rest of Marvel Family got their powers later on.
@allforone3427
@allforone3427 Ай бұрын
@@ridley7498 I feel like that's changing the problem from "He's just a kid" to "He's untrained" like Superman's problem isn't that he's inexperienced, his problem with it is that he's like 10 and shouldn't be doing this period. Even if the wizard gave Billy all the training in the world I don't think he'd Magically be fine with it if this happened again. His whole point is that this shouldn't be his problem, not that he's not ready for it.

Yeah but its still crazy. Because its not even just powers, his empowerment literally changes him mentally and emotionally by granting him wisdom that his kid brain struggles to process at times. It must be like constantly having an adult whispering in your ear telling you what is and is not a good idea. And despite HAVING that wisdom, he is still a freaking KID. With all sorts of emotional and mental issues that being a foster kid at that age can bring. So no, he doesnt always listen to that voice. And it probably means he feels 10x worse when he screws up because he had the right answer being in his head the whole time and chose something else because his teenage mind couldnt rationalize the right choice in the heat of the moment. I can kinda relate. I have adhd and when I was a kid, i was on meds to help control it. While on the meds i could feel myself losing control when something was going wrong and I was about to snap. I had that voice telling me to chill out and take a breath or do something different and at times it was SO HARD to listen and I often felt like garbage afterwards when i didnt and got into way more trouble than I would have if I had listened to that inner voice. Honestly, when done properly, the entire idea of shazaam as billy batson is so interesting and so much can be done with it that he is a fascinating character.

then you don't understand the narrative Batman has shown, Bruce and all of his disciples were people who were forced to be mature at a very young age, all of them share the same trauma. Bruce knowing all that did a very good job at mentoring them, there was an alternate storyline that showed what would happen if they never met Batman, at the end all of them ended up having a very fuc..ked up life without him and Batman also grew more broodier without them. Even clark needs years to control his power thats bringing him to undertstand the risk, he can be a hero but also can be a threat. Super power is basiclly responsiblity. Just like spiderman said " with great power, comes great responsiblity ". Thats why when superman saw shazam is actually a kid who wield godly power, he is like angry and said " who did this to you" which means who in the hell give you big responsiblity like this to wield this power. It's the running theme of Superman, A normal person can be the greatest of superheroes sorta thing. Of course it's memed to hell nowadays, and yes, a Perry the Platypus moment indeed, just without Doofenshmirtz to make it funny.

Superman accepts Batman training kids because Superman trusts Bruce to guide them and make sure they don't get in too deep. Or at least try to. The wizard hands a 12 year old orphan a host of powers that makes him as strong as Superman, if not stronger. That seems like a really bad idea for everyone involved. Yeah, there's a difference between training a kid in martial arts and dective skills and pushing the power of gods on them.

@Jeezes718
@Jeezes718 Ай бұрын
Yes, and no. ORIGINALLY, Billy was Captain Marvel, but due to Marvel also having a Captain Marvel, and it making sense for the company Marvel to have a Captain Marvel, they eventually stopped calling Billy that and started calling him Shazam, even though the DC Captain Marvel predates Marvel Captain Marvel. So, now there is Shazam and the Wizard Shazam.

@BeeWaifu Mar-vell was the first. When Monica Rambeau got her powers, the news called her Captain Marvel because of how similar her powers were to Mar-vell, but eventually, she decided to stop using the name as she had no connection to Mar-vell. For a time, Mar-vells son called himself Captain Marvel but then stopped because he felt he was just copying his dad. Then his daughter did the same. Then, a different kree invaded Earth and was persuaded by the Avengers to become the new Captain Marvel. Then, after decades, Carol Danvers took up the name Captain Marvel.

And where does superman draw this imaginary line? What age is too young? 8? 12? 16??
@Fang1st
@Fang1st 5 күн бұрын
Well, I would assume that under the age of 18 children shouldn't be forced into baring ungodly strength and putting their loved ones at risk, or losing them because criminals want to hurt you. This 'imaginary line' shouldn't be too skeptical when a 12 year old loses his best friend dying in his arms while struggling to keep his emotions in check, lol.
