Asafa those words are so true, people see you living a certain lifestyle and believe they are entitled not knowing the sacrifices you had to make to be able to live such a lifestyle. Also, those figures you quoted literally gave me a headache.

You are correct in saying some things are more expensive in the US than JM and vice versa. The key is balance and determining your wants and needs. There is also a perspective shift as you get older. Happy Saturday.

I am in Jamaica and I am sending my niece money for rent, even when she work as a CNA and going to school, but i told her two job and school is the new normal now. It is not bed of rose water in USA. She best funish school and return home if she can't hack it. In foreign countries if you don't have your husband and or wife to be two, jointly, you as a single person will have it harder to get by, especially pay check to pay check survival mode.

I live in Southern US and if I cooked everyday I would spend about $250 US per week for groceries. Light bill only $125 US per month $ water $55 US per month. I feel like it is cheaper in U.S. when it comes to credit, interest rates, financing. If I lived in Jamaica I would definitely eat more fresh food off the trees God has provided there. Jamaica has fresh food growing everywhere!

Asafa, I think living in Jamaica is way cheaper.. Imagine a can of Grace Ackee cost $11.47 CD. a single mango $2.27. These things and many more, you can pick from the tree. For those renting, it is a killer a 2 bedroom can be $3, 200.00 or more. The list goes on. HAPPY SABBATH TO ALL!

I think living in the US is more expensive, but I feel like it might be the same if we were to move to JA and live somewhat similar to how we live in Florida. Mortgage, cars, insurance, phones, food, utilities, personal maintenance, going out, etc, for just the 2 of us is around $8000 per month. So I can only imagine with kids.
