The first time I tried long acrylics I was getting out of bed, forgot about my claws, and positioned my hand the wrong way. All of my bodyweight came down on my nail and not only snapped the acrylic in half but also ripped MORE THAN HALF of my natural nail off down to flesh. There was blood all over my bed immediately. She definitely was not being dramatic, she was being pretty calm in my opinion.

@@zuzia_ismentallyunstable428bro fr, i remember I was cooking some pasta, and when I was gonna get a towel by the oven, my acrylic nail hit the pot’s handle and it fucking snapped because I usually unintentionally move my hands really quickly, and then it literally broke like half of my original nail and damn, it was REALLY painful and it STINGED everytime that nail part came in contact with something. My nail has already healed since though, it’s been like a year now. I rarely get acrylic nails nowadays, but I still do, but I always try not moving my hands fast when I do have them on and let them fall off on their own.

It's not glass, it is heavy acrylic fibers and when the part that breaks is not the tip, but the part on the real nail it takes part of the real nail too. It hurts so badly that I quit having mine done.

That shit actually hurts so fucking bad. It's literally stuck onto your real nails. Even if you accidentally lift it trying to pick something up it burns and stings like shit, and then when it pops off it can rip your nail off with it, her reaction was not being dramatic it was real.

(Explanation): if you get acrylic nails they are attached to your nail and it hurts a lot when you break one but in this situation if you apply a lot of pressure on it it will come off, and I mean the natural nail aswell

There's a difference in between breaking a nail "oh my god you lost the glued on part shut up!" Vs actually breaking a nail "it's going to be okay we got bandage and we got meds, sh sh sh it's okay sweetie we're here"

Well, glued on nails can also lead to extreme amounts of pain if broken. The bond is so strong it breaks the actual nail too
