Kate built a profitable & sustainable Microgreens business from her backyard. It all started a little over 9 years ago when the markets were crashing and her family needed to create an income. In 2010 Lucky Leaf Gardens was formed in her sun room, moved to her backyard, and now resides on a five acre property in a 3,800 sqft greenhouse with all the modern temperature and watering controls.
It was great getting to see Kate's set up and learn from her experience. We hope you will learn just as much as I have.

My favorite shows are on KZfaq. I love fit farmer Justin Rhodes art and Bri so the land Roots & Refuge and I really like Cross Timbers. Bison what. I like the arms family Homestead and so many others like deep south Homestead. I raise chickens in Denton North Carolina and before I got sick with cancer and fibromyalgia I had a great big Garden. We live on about 5 Acres and my son is 33 now and he would like to one day come here and have his own son Homestead. Our daughter is 23 and lives in Charlotte. She loves the city life after growing up in a small town her whole life. Lycee your mom was my nieces school bus driver when they were in elementary school at Mount Pleasant. It is a small world. I'm sure I've left some out but I try to watch all the logs that you guys put out because I enjoy them so much more than anything TV has to offer. I spend a lot of time resting these days. I feel like I live vicariously through you and your Gardens and raising your animals. I only have dogs cats and chickens. But I'm nearly 60 years old and not in good health. My husband is 68 and he is not in the best of health either. We are trying to revive our old Greenhouse so that we can grow a small bit of our food again. He spent a long time taking care of me in the last 7 years due to my illness. I miss gardening very much and it makes me very happy to see you all doing such a wonderful job and spreading the word about gardening and homesteading. I remember always pointing out to my husband that way through this or we grew that or these are our eggs and things like that. We butchered a couple of roosters that needed to go because they were very aggressive and wanted to keep attacking my husband and our little small dog. They never bothered the Rottweilers LOL. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. I am going to try to get out this year and do a little more gardening. I did grow some herbs and flowers this past summer and I still have oregano from Summers and Summers past. My parsley is on its second year and I dread to see it go because it is the curly parsley and that is my favorite. We had to fence our garden to keep out the chickens. They try to destroy my green beans! I still have seeds that I have saved from those days and I share them with my sisters who also enjoy gardening. They also enjoy your videos. I have learned a lot from you Lacey with your medicinal plants and my chickens seem to love comfrey which I did not know they could have. But now that I know I forwarded for it and I really enjoy it. Keep up the good work stay healthy and fit. I love your family and I pray for you daily. By the way I have a big hickory nut tree that was blown down by storm if anybody's interested in that for heat or barbecue or whatever. We are just a little bit too old and frail to tackle this giant tree. It was full of nuts when the storm blew it down but I would love to see someone have it and use it.

Mike I really appreciate and admire your positive attitude. So many KZfaqrs nowadays are being negative and nasty and putting others down. Making wise cracks about this or that. It’s completely turned me off. I’ve NEVER heard you or Lacey be that way. You’re even out promoting someone who others would see as “competition!” You and your family have such amazing and beautiful spirits. I just wanted to say thank you and not let that part of you, your channel and business go unnoticed!! God Bless you all and please keep doing you!! ~Lisa

So much love Mike and Lacey from just outside of Greensboro, NC. Thank you so much. Completely open to being a volunteer farm hand if yall are ever in need. Hopefully in a couple years l will successful enough to be featured on your channel when things are better established for myself and my family as we branch out our skills into a consumer market.

This video is gold! We have Curtis Stone's book The Urban Farmer, which is also a wonderful source for info on microgreens, but this video really addressed the important questions. So many of us starting out need the basics, and this video provides that. Thanks for putting it together and sharing with us. ♡

Thank you Mike for this video, I've been very interested in micro greens for their nutritional value. Since my husband Michael has been dealing with cancer and we've decided the medical community has really nothing to offer, homeopathic choices are the way to go. That is one reason I enjoyed following your channel I learn so many helpful tips. God bless you and your family, can't wait to see you guys at the Hierloom expo soon😍😇

Kathleen Perdue, You are on the right path! Please, think about distilling your water then add minerals back. Water is life. I also use mine to make my own Colloidal Silver. Both of these things are very easy to do, look for beginner's groups (a wealth of generous info). I'm a 70 year old Vegan with no health issues & I've not even had a cold in almost 50 years! Blessings for you & your family's health 💞👵
