Hailan is really dangerous when angered. She took out a lot of princes and consorts lol. She took out 2nd prince Yonglian by sending reeds to Xiefang palace that caused his asthma to worsen and eventually died. Hailan also caused Yongzhang to be taken out of the succession by deliberately causing Yongzhang to overhear what she said to Yongqi, as a result Noble Consort Chun also fell out of favor. Hailan also caused Noble Consort Jia's son to be taken out from the succession well not directly, but she delivered the final blow by making Jia to make a promise in front of the emperor. She also exposed Wei Yanwan's evil deeds. She was the mastermind and paved the way for Ruyi to become empress. She's quiet but very smart. I love her character development.

In the novel she’s more vicious ,they cut out a lot of her crazy schemes she actually blackmailed consort chun after the scolding with a reeds doll that she saved from the second prince death cuz consort chun was the one who sent brought the reeds to xiefang palace, and she was the one who actually took consort ling down years after ruyi passes.

Consort Yu is such a fascinating character : she started as a weak, powerless consort, who could get bullied by everyone and who could only rely on Ruyi ; I used to think she might be the usual trope of the weak best friend who turns evil due to jealousy (just like the actress’ character in The Empress of China). But she developed an unexpected strength when her friend got in troubles and used all of her resources to help her again and again, always growing stronger and stronger and never failing in her loyalty towards Ruyi

Yonghuang's life in this drama is very miserable. He lost his mom and sister since young, got mistreated by the nannies, only briefly lived with Ruyi, got ignored often by Consort Chun, being lied to by Consort Jia regarding his mother's death, which eventually lost him the crown prince position. Him passing away later in the story is probably a release from the tragedy and a newfound happiness since he can be with his biological mother.

Yeah. I just learned more about him and he is as miserable as you just said. The only genuine happiest moments he had perhaps were when he was with Ruyi whom valued him and treated him like a real son. Oh If only when Ruyi came back she insisted or agreed to get Yonghuang back, his life and faith wouldn't have been this miserable :( but at least he is free & with his biological mother now. I feel a little angry to Consort Chun for being cold and unfair to him. She should've known better especially in her usually kind or at least dutiful nature..

She is good originaly, but also naive and timid, so she can easily deceived by Jia Fei. In other hand, Hailan also good, but she bullied over and over, so her cunning side appear. Fortunately, she is in Ruyi's side and Ruyi can surpress her, so Hailan doesn't become evil.

I think it’s honestly because she was the right candidate to be the new empress in terms of optics. She ticked all the boxes. She was a mother to multiple princes and a princess, she was of Han origin and from a noble family and she was one of the originals from the old manor, it only made sense that she would be the new step empress but she let arrogance take over and ruined her chances.

其實現在看下來海藍有些太過認真對待她與如意之間的感情，把所有事情（皇子的未來）排在如懿後面即便聽到大阿哥那樣算計自己，我如若是如懿也會覺得不要跟曾經疼愛過的孩子計較，他的人生變化我已不能參與海藍那樣子做讓大阿哥在皇帝面前一點信任也沒有，往後的人生都會被猜忌，他為了自己的身分地位也好，為了報復母親的死也好，他只是想要把握住屬於自己的東西，從小被踢來踢去不被嬤嬤好好對待，只有在如懿膝下得到過短暫的溫暖，長大以後沒有變得十惡不赦就不錯了，還要處處為了別人著想的確也是不太可能的發展那麼疏離冰冷的皇宮裡面，多的是要害他的人，抬頭是自己尊貴的天子父親，而他只是一個失去母親的庶子，長大以後又多了臣子的身分，根本不可能從皇上身上得到愛如懿不對大阿哥計較在我看來沒有錯，這個小孩子如果被好好呵護的成長，一切言行舉止都承教於有德的長輩，那該多好像如懿臨終前的哀嘆，那些孩子都好好的長大了，一切該有多好

其實我覺得海蘭跟安陵容（早期）一樣，都是自作主張替自己好姐妹做了些髒事，但眉莊跟甄嬛就會背地裡說陵容狠毒，讓她心灰意冷黑化，如懿呢雖然大多時候不知情，但也大多唸唸就算了（小說中海蘭設計害死皇后兒子，如懿是知情的），也只能說情份不同吧，也是可憐陵容了

我覺得不一樣欸，當初莊和甄因為年輕沒被真正傷害過，遇事大多也能靠著聰明跟有人撐腰而解決，那時她們心中是乾淨的自然覺得安髒，但如懿當時已經被弄，自然也得還，所以只是唸了海蘭而不是疏遠。而且安雖說是一路苦過來的但她會為了上位而去做一些不好的事，但海蘭一切只是求安生跟幫助如懿，雖然的確有時過頭了，卻從未為了自身利益傷害他人，所以還是有一點點差別的~

Hailan actually managed them after Ruyi died. She was pretty much the ONLY concubine that the Emperor had before he ascended that was still alive thus the most senior and experienced.

Idk much but i once saw in a video and it said ying fei was most favoured and her favor and status can even rival ling fei and also in another video it said yu fei n is the real winner in harem and both yu fei n ying fei took control of harem ( still not sure about the sec one but the first fact is real )
