If you have audible, maybe you should download Mark Twain's book. Tom Sawyer or huckleberry Finn and play them on the way to Connecticut to Mark Twain's house. I really think the kids would enjoy those books. I know that I loved them as I was growing up.

Bring warm clothes on your trip, nighttime lows this time of year 30 to 40 degrees, Daytime highs 50 to 60 degrees. I don't want you too cold to enjoy your trip to the northeast

My first husband and I loved going to auctions there was an auction sale barn in our town every Friday night we loved going there and had a very good refreshment kitchen there we loved their fried fish and french fries. They sold household goods , tools, and many other items they closed when everything was sold.

When my family first came to the U.S., we lived in RI. My parents always took on a road trip s of the New England area during their free weekend. One of my best and fondest childhood memories. Hope y'all get to see the beauty of the New England fall foliage when the leaves are changing colors. Have a safe and pleasant road trip.

We love auctions too! There is an amish community near us that has an auction a few times a year with every farm tool imaginable, antique home and kitchen goods, animals galore, and so much more. Its neat to just look around even if you dont buy anything.

Youth hunting season in Texas starts in October unil opening season which is the 1st weekend of November. All kids can hunt during regular hunting season. We use to take 5 or 6 kids hunting on our deer lease. It's a fun time for the kids and their parents.

I like auctions too! I live in Houston but prefer to go out of town to small towns for auctions. You get much better deals. Country folks won't overbid. I was in the business of resealing.

Do be careful with the roundabouts in Mass. as if they haven’t changed they go reverse of how we are used too. If you go through Portsmouth New Hampshire ge sure to see the lovely old downtown. But mostly if your going that way into Main just over the river is Portsmouth Navel station. And there also used to be a restaurant called Valley’s. Yummy steak and lobster. But it’s been a really long time since I lived in that area. My husband was stationed in Portsmouth New Hampshire. But honestly, though you will enjoy the history in this trip the thing I’m jealous of is that stunning beauty you will find in the fall. Love your family. Enjoy every minute.

Cassie, the motto I like is go BIG or go home. Lol the chicken sign should say as many as I want. Lol I’ve been to 1 auction that I can remember. It was my Grandpas. I kept bidding for a basket and got outbid fed each time. The guy who got the bid knew me and asked me if there was something in the basket I wanted. And there was. It was a nut thing that cut up the nuts for baking. I remember Grandma using it every time she used pecans. The guy gave it to me. It was very nice of him. I left happy. Sounds like a fun vacation. I used to live in Connecticut. Pretty areas. Have fun. Thank you for the video.

You should try pizza, fried dough, authentic grinders and a good Itaian restaurant (what I miss about not living in CT still) while in New England. No nationwide chains places. Mazie should try Rock candy and maple sugar candy

Have a great vaca..my hubby is sick so I can't go meet you..but there are presidents houses in quincy ma. SALEM ma drive thru and see house from Hocus pocus movie. Witch trials..so much to do so little time . Traffic out of Boston is always backed up from 3 to 7. So he prepared. The chicks are beautiful!! Fingers crossed that most of them are hens!! Great bargains at the auction. My first thought when I saw the "skull cap" was, it looked like perm rods from a beauty salon. 😂😂 Any idea as to when or if your family might visit North Carolina?? I love Auctions! We have Amish auctions near us. I will say I won’t buy chickens anymore, it took me buying them I think 4 different times and they always ended up dying days later. So I go for the good food they have huge kettles where they make homemade donuts and another pot frying fresh French fries. But yes! People watch for sure…

Speaking of buying foreclosures, and you may already know this, but regarding them, do you collect the overage? For example, the house sales for $150,000, but the bank is only owed $50,000, that other $100,000 is rightfully yours. If you don't collect it, the government hangs onto it, but like I said, it rightfully belongs to the one who buys the house. Enjoy your trip, and Happy Birthday, Cassie!

Foreclosures we purchased were from banks. They took the loss and sell the house outright. Usually you can’t even walk inside.

Im excited for your trip to My Neck of The Woods! I grew up in Connecticut and just moved here in 2018. I came here alot to visit my Grandma and Aunt, Uncles, and cousins. Rte 95 is a nightmare so be sure to give yourself plenty of travel time. Im hoping the fall 🍁 are still pretty. I lived in Vermont for 2 yrs 2 exits from the Canadian border but i didn't like the cold frigid winters esp after experiencing -39 Below. Thankfully Oklahoma doesn't get that cold 😂 Have a wonderful Safe trip. Cassie I hope you have a Fantastic Birthday 🎂

Oh ya Cassie looking forward to having lobster the hard shell have more meat in them. Oh so good and less expensive then steak around Maine anyway.
