Besides, if an artist is not contacting directly the normal course of action would be to approach those who she was currently working for. So, when she is under the contract of MU, the producers don't have to talk to her directly at all, they can just deal with things with the MU institution. Infact she might even have restrictions from the MU. So any institution if they have issues regarding someone's pending work would obviously approach their current boss. My guess is that they did approach MU and was either refused or told to wait till her tenure with MU was over, because everything regarding her PR during her tenure would be MU's business. And her being MU was obviously only additional free boost for the movie makers. She probably asked to renegotiate the contract for additional payments as her name recognition had immensely increased worldwide and the movie was only going to benefit from it be it they did the PR during her tenure or after. They are probably going for this lawsuit to either no pay her more money or just banking on negative publicity. The movie makers are only going to get more benefit just with her footage itself, the negative PR is also only going to benefit them evenif they refuse to pay her more for PR. She needs a lot more security and staff, so it is very much justified that she would need for more money to pay them.
