Being the legitimate child does mean she has a higher standing compared to the other illegitimate children but she used to curtsy and greet Ruyi as "Mother Xian" when she was younger. One could argue that this is because Ruyi was married to her father before his coronation (alongside her mother and the late Noble Consort Huixian), so Ruyi has a higher standing compared to the other concubines. But I recall the empress herself telling the eldest prince that he needs to address all of the emperor's concubines as mother even if they are just attendants when he refused to address A'ruo as mother. Apparently she practised double standards when it came to her own children and spoilt them hence the princess became a brat. I believe the emperor's concubines either didn't dare to discipline her out of fear of her mother or like Ruyi, they just couldn't be bothered to.
