Stage lights wash you out, which is why stage actors use so much makeup. The same can be said for auditoriums. The seating here is similar to that of a basketball court. The lighting and distance of the bleachers can blur out all her natural features, which again is the reason for all the makeup. The person on the last bleacher needs to see her face as well as anyone sitting court side.

I wish she would get some time to be unfocused. Children need time to find out what they want themselves. This parent and coach driven. Children are very dedicated. Teenagers need to find themselves.

You can tell she loves to dance and really put a lot of time and practice it’s heartwarming. The makeup is a tad much… hopefully the parents will remember to let her live her childhood and let her do her thing. With her moves, I think she’d make a great figure skater, just my two cents. 😊

It's common in dance and on stage for all performers to wear dramatic makeup to make their features pop and it helps draw attention. Just let the kid wear her makeup. Sorry she isn't adorable enough for you

@@savannahnickel1041 Agreed, Savannah. The further you are from the performance, the less you can make out the facial features. And, as you said, heavier makeup is just part of dance life. It's not like she's made up like that every day. It's performance makeup for an actual performance. I started dancing at age six. Trust me, the girls love the rare chance to wear makeup like the "big" dancers do.

Exactly as a mom I was asked for my daughter to be allowed to model but after talking with my friend who's a cop. She said when they confiscate images and videos from pedos this is type of stuff they have and images from magazines. So to say the least I never let my daughter model

What a sheer pleasure to watch. Absolutely perfect. She's able to use her technique and just simply dance with a lovely smile. I just feel like this reminds me of toddlers and tiaras mix with dance moms It’s so cringey-cute though. It gives me such intense flashbacks of being in dance class having all those super Chris shark movements But in my dance school, we didn’t do the animated faces with expressions NO We did Chucky smiles I’m talking, aired air, Chelsea grin, all teeth showing for the whole dance number 😅 I don’t know how the judges made it through that shit

There's an old Nike ad with Michael Jordan which says, "When you have it inside it shows outside". This young lady definitely has it! With good people around her she can become a star some day. May God bless and watch over her. 🙏🏻

The makeup distracted me initially. Wonderfully Gifted and Passionate dancer. She looks happy, and that's what makes Champions. A love and passion for what we do.

One of my first jobs was as a banquet server at a hotel and once a year they would have Western ballroom competitions and it was so much fun and I would stay in the room to watch. 💃🏽

As a dancer myself, I know that i’m beautiful with and without makeup and especially when i was that age and younger my mom always told me that so that i knew how to love myself. The stage lights are extremely harsh and bright, meaning, that with out the makeup you wouldn’t be able to see the facial expressions that we make. A HUGE part of dance is the facial expressions that you make, it makes the judges and the audience drawn to you because you’re having fun and it shows along side of your talent. That’s why we, dancers, wear makeup in the first place. I hope that clears it up 😊
