All of Janet's reactions were so cute!!! Accepting even when she was scared, hyping herself up, just overall positive energy? Thank you so much for visiting Maya, and thanks to Maya and the team for their amazing work and sharing it with us! Curious if y'all would host Ed and / or Emily from Snake Discovery. They run a reptile shop, adoption center, and sanctuary in Minnesota and breed snakes for pet keeping. It would also be super cool if they hosted you at their sanctuary / zoo to talk about rescues and all the care that goes into nursing unwell animals back to health.

I'd make a joke about Janjan living with a 'donkey' etc etc but honestly as someone who's had shy pets and knows what it takes for an animal to be as trusting as Serrano was right off the hop is cool to see, and really speaks to Janet's character. If the shy animals like you, you're good people :)

No they came from a feed lot and were not fond of humans before they got to the sanctuary. They wouldn't even let staff near them half the time

Oh yes a lot of lizards (not just snakes) and amphibians love mice. You just don't feed them often those cause they are a lot of calories and most pets don't burn that many. So they can get obese on em

But out of those 210 venomous snakes, a lot of them still woulndt attack you, and their venom also wouldnt be strong enough to do any real damage to you. of course those do exist, but they will almost all cases only strike out of self defense, since you are way too big for them to eat. so as long as you dont disturb them, they wont disturb you! They play a really important part in the ecosystem keeping things like rodent populations under control.
