The only Flying Tank for me in AB Mode is the T18B from Sweden. IL-2 is not bad but far away from my T18B.

Trolling fighters with attackers is a joy :)) And now imagine there was even a pure heavy fighter Il-2i (i = istrebitel / fighter). These were lightened versions with one seat and 2 x 23 mm for escorting other Il-2s or bomber hunting aroud Moscow area.. What a shame these birds aren´t in the game - at least as an event plane :)

I love how powerful guns it has also armor plates makes its pilot hard to kill and engine is also hard to damage because of 4mm armor plates

I played this plane in air RB for a long time, this really was the first plane that helped me learn how to play War Thunder. It's good fun!

I would also add a Data plate over the video in one of the corners of the video showing: Aircraft Settings: Ammo Selected (Universal 7.7, Ground 20mm), Convergence (600m), Combat (Ground and Pound/Fighter) Climb Rate MAX (10% as an example). Things like this.

Beautiful aircraft! Succeeded by the even better IL-2 1942 with the 23 mm, which is my Soviet darling! So glad I got a free talisman on it!

My own personal experience so far is it’s a good plane to blast ground targets with if you’ve got air cover. I’m still learning how to fly it, but I love it. Love the fact that it was designed specifically for close air support.

My go-to plane along with the A-36 when I just wanna mess around. Just engaging fighters, heading-on and winning, actually turnfighting... fun :D

absolutely adore all the IL-2s except for the type 3 :) it's always funny when players try to head on me forgetting that i have 23 mils and just get wrecked. also do you think the il-2s durability matches or exceeds the p-47? it's hard to tell

That version of IL-2 just have one weakness, if it's fuel tank caught on fire, the pilot would die fast :(

Get speed and veeeeeeeeerrrrry slowly side-climb, hoping that your team doesn't falter too fast while they're dragging enemies down. Then, despite the absolutely insane maneuverability, stay fast and above enemies for most of the battle until you either see an opportunity of 1 to 2 enemies separated far away from the rest or 1-2 remain overall. Once that happened you can revert using the outstanding maneuverability in an offensive manner, but you really need to ensure that you get enough (like double/triple the usual) time/chances to regain your speed and altitude. Basically stay aware that you have barely any level acceleration and therefore abysmal powered climb performance (climbing by converting already gained speed is another story)... this is a jet that is the King of the observation "Speed & Altitude are life". The turn performance is really tempting to use, but once you use it you lost all energy you had in speed and as mentioned it barely gets that speed back in level or climb. So either use your turning abilities only at altitude where you can dive to regain speed, or if you really are in a situation where you cannot speed/zoom away. Again, with this jet !!!ALWAYS!!! STAY AWARE OF YOUR SPEED & ALTITUDE, EVERY SINGLE SECOND! The maneuverability is just the joker to pull when things are turning (pun intended) really bad.

AD4 is truly the best "Attacker." I climb to 5k and carve up all manner of excellent fighters. It seems to irritate people into foolish decisions, turns like a zero and hits like a train.

the fact that you cant make it work, doesnt mean its the plane's fault. This plane is awesome, and can outturn pretty much anything in a flat turn.
