Meet Meghan, a badass micro-farmer who lives on a 10-acre solar-powered homestead with 4 yurts. She calls it Yurtlandia--a place to grow, enjoy slow living & appreciate nature. She walks through each of her two 16 ft yurts, two 30 ft yurt small homes, the property & solar setup. Links to her socials in the description. 👉 *WATCH more tiny & small alternative dwelling TOURS:* kzfaq.info/sun/PLlvBXhDyr9H0DjI0IWed5m3nvWj3S-C0e 🎪

Meghan, this is beautiful. When I taught in a Montessori school in New Mexico, we used to take our kids on an end-of-year field trip. For two or three years we went to the country hacienda of a woman who regularly opened it to student groups like ours. It was unforgettable for all of us. On your place, the children could learn about how to live sustainably and creatively. I’d encourage you to consider helping prepare the next generation in your special and valuable way! Best of luck with this wonderful life!

I used to think of Yurts as a big tent. But I have to say after seeing one personally they are a lot more durable and sturdy than you would think. I love the space and flexibility they offer. She showed how different they can be stylized. Great Job. Thanks for sharing.

Love her down-to-earth and can-do attitude! All the beautiful family antiques in the yurts give such a homey feel...those shell-back dining room chairs? Swoooon-worthy for sure. Also, shout-out to Estes Park, Meghan...I spent a lot of time there over the years...I remember it long before there were chain restaurants or the Safeway grocery store. Let's all try to go back to simpler times and be good stewards of the land, yes. She has the right idea!

Beautiful. I lived in my own 24 foot yurt ( also in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada ) while building my cob home. I loved it and once the cob was built and we were happily ensconced within, I went ahead and put up a 16' foot yurt as a Woman's Temple space. Such a gorgeous time I had there!

The yurt is a kind of mobile house of the Mongolian people in my hometown. Now most of the herdsmen are separated from this kind of house. In Inner Mongolia, China, because of the economic development, it is difficult to realize the life of integrating into nature. Wealth and freedom are the pursuit of many people. In the United States, you have a kind of pastoral culture. Most of us Chinese yearn for big city life, so it is difficult to realize this kind of yurt life. You said corn cob house. It is an ancient technology in China and has been eliminated at present. He was roughly crushed by corn straw, loess, glutinous rice, eggs

In the ancient city walls of China, the tombs of ancient nobles all used triad. For details, you can search for ancient buildings or tombs in Shaanxi and Shanxi in China on the oil pipeline. There is a saying in China that it is reasonable that we can let the West learn for several years by looking for the technology of our ancestors. Ancient China experienced various civilizations, but lacked industrial civilization. Therefore, you can search for food and architecture, and many of them were passed down from China.

Only 2 weeks of hot summer???....lucky you we have about 5-6 months in Western Australia...phew. Not sure I would want to live in California with your wildfires we hear so much about though...stay safe girl!! (BTW I didnt see any fire extinguishers or fire blankets in your yurts do you have them handy?? Thankyou for showing us your world...Yurtlandia its amazing. Your dog looks like she's been in the wars a bit did she have a run in with a wild critter? Your chickens...lucky girls, (we call them CHOOKS in Oz have a fabulous house of their own... Best $200K I've seen spent in a long time...thats half the price of a simple weatherboard cottage in country Oz on a 1/4 acre if you're lucky... 10 acres of heaven...cant get better than that!! All the best from Western Australia and thanks also to Alexis and Christian for finding you :)

Feels like a yurt would make a great vacation home, my parents would definitely love it, although I'm worried about mold, wear and tear, natural cooling, and making sure it withstands all the typhoons we have per year because I live in the tropics. I chuckled when she mentioned the challenge of having a place to hang clothes at, and my lazy ass looked at all the trellis-looking structural support of the yurt 🤣

Pacific Yurts are definitely more substantial than you might think, and her main living yurt has been in use for over 20 years! There are certain kinds of yurt homes that come with more insulation and beefier structure, plus there are yurt cabins made of wood or SIPs.

You can always put what up around the yurt to make it more enclosed it doesn't have to be held together by that that cloth like it's not cloth like what is it it's some sort of material I don't know where it is made out of but I've seen people where they put insulation around and then they added wood or and or they used drywall which I hate drywall so I wouldn't even suggest these drywall bit these are awesome I freaking love this
