What’s the movie She’s the Man about?
Viola Hastings (Amanda Bynes) is a teen girl who plays for her school feminine soccer team until the team gets cut by the board. Her twin brother, Sebastian (James Kirk), is supposed to enroll in Illyria, an elite school, but he secretly goes to London with his music band instead. Viola then agrees to cover for him by passing herself off as Sebastian in hopes of joining Illyria boys' soccer team. With the help of her stylist friend, she is transformed into "Sebastian" and attends the prestigious school. However, things get complicated when Viola starts to fall for Duke (Channing Tatum), the hot star forward. She discovers that dealing with high school politics and twisted love triangles is a major challenge when you’re a guy who’s really a girl!

@@ZaWarudo69 exactly, but only my mom though. I'm not that proud but this is one of the advantages of having a young mother, who is only 21 years apart. I started watching drama and romcom with her since i was 7 i guess. I know it's a bad thing but i still closed my eyes when kissing scene or even sex scene bout to happen. I remember watching Titanic with no deleted scene with the whole family. I remember they stared at me when Jack and Rose were making out, my uncle teased me, but my aunt said that i hadn't understand what was going on yet. It was a few years later that I found out what they were doing. Gosh what a long story 🥲

This will sound crazy but I was the visual effect supervisor on this movie. I can’t believe how many people loved this movie. We filmed it in Vancouver and man it was a great laugh. David Cross stole the show! We had a soccer ball kicking competition and surprise surprise Vinnie won it by a landslide. The VFX were mostly crowd in the BG, and a bunch of sky fixes because, well, it’s BC and we shot nearly in to the dark each day. Anyway… a fun trip down memory lane. Thanks for watching! I love that Duke says, "that's just a *little* weird." He doesn't say "that's weird" straight up, he describes Sebastian (Viola) loving him as just a little weird. It's almost as if Duke isn't too opposed to the idea of Sebastian loving him.

I've been thinking about this movie a lot lately. With all the recent movies with female leads that are all perfect with absolutely no flaws. This one, actually does what modern movies try to do a lot better. She is a skilled soccer player at her school but when se first joins Cornwall she barely makes second string, she has to work and practice harder than she ever has. She then eventually makes the first string cut after her coach watches her and notices improvement. That's how you do a movie like this well.

Such an underrated film, a fantastic cast. Also, I still mourn for Amanda Bynes and the struggle she has endured as a person. She lost her early adult career because she couldn't get the help she needed, and that story is too common in our nation. I hope she's doing better each day.

I haven't seen the actual movie, but how could people not tell the difference between the real and the fake Sebastian? The real Sebastian has a deep voice. It's like Isaac in the Bible telling the difference between Esau and Jacob when giving them his blessing. Isaac is blind, and Jacob tries to trick him into giving him the blessing, but even after the hair Jacob puts on his arms so he feels like Esau, his voice is still different.

@@tomsmith6513 Because its a movie. Not much in movies plays out like real life actually would. How many shoot out scenes have you seen that would actually happen in real life? The good guy kills 30 people but never gets hit.........

I loved ‘Just One of the Guys’ when I was growing up. I never saw this, but I do feel bad for Amanda’s illness. I have a family member with schizophrenia, and it is very difficult to get help for them.
