I have been using it for a while and it has definitely cured my peeling nails. I neglected my nails for a few weeks due to illness and have noticed some peeling. Back to TLC!

This is my winter nail reality. I do not have the rampant peeling issues in summer. Why? I don’t wash my hands any more often in winter, I use oils and lotions more often in winter … My current hypothesis is mine is due the reduced nutrition, moisture, and gas exchange that occurs at the nail bed due to cold fingers and the closing capillary response of our bodies. I am currently sporting very short nails, and buff the ragged peels as lightly as possible to reduce catching and tearing. With Repair Mode and my typical oil usage, the short nails are experiencing much less damage than my attempts to stay longer. It probably starts in November, and lasts until …? With your training Anna, I have been able to react thoughtfully to reduce the damage. Thank you for all your videos.

Agree with your approach. I had peeling nails & wore Nailtiques Formula 2 and other polishes - it just made the peeling worse. After watching this channel, I stopped wearing ANY polish, invested in the right nail files, and used Mavala as directed, jojoba oil, and kerasal to help with skin. About a year later, what a difference!!!!! No peeling at all, skin around nails is healed (I don't pick at it anymore!). If I wear polish, it is only for a few days, not a week. And I take a break after removing polish. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm so happy that your nails have improved with this approach (although I'm not surprised 🤗). Congratulations on stopping the picking, it's a difficult habit to break. The best course of action in that case is starting a solid skin care, doing something positive for yourself... Thank you so much for writing :))

I am going to give this a whirl! My biggest problem with my nails is probably me! I use them as tools…big dummy. I’ve also been a hangnail chewer all of my life…I think especially when I feel anxious. So, that is a habit that I am working on stopping as well. For now I only wear press on nails with adhesive tabs on occasion. I have made many sets because I enjoy doing nail art…not that great at it but it serves me well. I really appreciate the knowledge that you share. I have learned so much from you and you inspire me. The greatest lesson that I have learned from you is that healthy nails are needed to support any kind of nail extensions. I am interested in seeing how her nails progress…so another vid yes please. “…slip & slide…” 😂😂😂 Have a great day and Thank You for sharing! 😊 ✌️💕

I use Mavala scientific from time to time on too soft endings. It is definitely working great. I did 2 weeks morning - evening cycle with OPI repair mode and I saw some improvement. I am not sure about it since I did oil soaks. But now after long time of Repair Mode use I can say it it is not miracle worker but it definitely improves the surface of my nails. It has significantly diminish the ridges on them. Thank you for your videos. I learned how to take care of my nails (manicure, moisturizing, oil soaks) and they are much healthier despite the fact that I wear nail polish. Plus I enjoy to listen to your voice when you’re talking, it has very calming influence on my mood. Bonus for me. 😄 I am shopping on Amazon quite a bit so I will try it through your store. 👍

I have been using the OPI repair mode for a month now and I must say it really does work! It did not do a miracle in just the 6 days it claims but after one month I basically have no peeling at all anymore! I have struggled with thin peeling nails for almost 15 years! Everytime I tried to grow my nails out healthy the peeling would just continue and my nails would rip (rip, not break cause they were super thin and bendy😅). I habe been applying the OPI serum at least twice a day (in the morning I follow it up with a hot oil soak) and after I shower or remove nail polish. Now my nails don't catch on things anymore, they are much harder (again they were very very bendy and soft, but be careful if your nails are already hard to begin with) and I think I can finally really grow my nails back healthy 🎉🎉🎉 I also bought the Kerasal cream and it helps with the extremely dry, hard skin around my nails. Everything looks so much better ❤ thank you so much, Anna, for sharing your knowledge with us ❤

Hi Anna and everyone. Anna I love you clips. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was having hard gel overlays for two years without a break. Two months ago I stopped and was horrified at the damage. The OPI repair and regular warm oil soaks were my saviour. The damage has not yet grown out so I still have obvious dints/ridges but not as deep as they were. Something is definitely working and making the grow out process easy. I recommend repair mode and oil soaks.

I, also have been using OPI Repair Mode. I have very ridged nails and a couple of them tend to split from the tip towards the base. I used it for six days and then put dazzle dry base coat and top coat. I can tell they are a bit stronger and no more splitting. While I’m wearing DD I’m planning to use DermaNail, at the base, twice a day.

I have started the nail soak and this product twice a day and use a little drop of jojoba after I washed my hands, and already I notice my nails feel better. It is hard to describe, but they don't feel as sensitive. I have filed them (gently with the correct file that isn't too gritty) and this also has made a HUGE difference. This is three days since I discovered your videos and two days of treatment...!

I got the OPI serum and a new bottle of Nail Envy and followed the instructions to use them together. It’s been a few weeks. I had issues with peeling and breaking at the free edge on a few nails and easy breaks. It’s definitely made a difference in the new growth. The improvement is more obvious on my non-dominant hand. One “problem” is that if I add colored polish and a quick dry top coat, the polish chipped much more quickly then normal even though I took steps to remove any oils from my nails.
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 6 ай бұрын
Hello there, that's interesting. I find the polish lasts better on me since I've been using OPI Repair Mode. I'm actually referring to the Catrice base coat that is nitrocellulose free that tends to peel off quite fast.

I love Repair Mode. I started trying to get my nails in shape about 9 months ago and have used a lit of your advice. It has really helped my weak, peeling nails. One word of caution with RM: it can harden the nails over time and I have had some lifting when I have used it too long. It's great stuff, just don't overdo it.

This is magic for my nails. I used it for one week 2 times a day and now every 3 weeks when I soak off my gelpolish, applied it directly before oilsoaking my nails and the next day before painting my nails again. My soft, weak, bendy and peeling nails are much stronger and less peeling. Painting my nails also helps a lot. When I let my nails bare they start peeling again. Didn’t try it lately.. love my longer nails to much and don’t want to risk it but I’am curious also if it doesn’t with this treatment 🤔

Hi, I have an acrylic question, well a nail brush question. Is there any thing I need to do with new nail brushes before I can use them? All the channels I watch seem to open new nail brushes then use them as is. But I saw a video that said to get the powder(?) out before using. Your expertise on this subject will be appreciated. Also, I’m middle age & have noticed my nails are getting flatter. Is that normal?

For at least 3 years I used to polish my nails 3-4 times a week with regular laquer. I had no issues till about a year 1/2 ago when I started to get peeling and breakage. May have been a combination of changes in work environment and perimenipause. In early November of last year I bought the OPI RM. I used it twice a day for 6 days on the bare nails and did see some improvement. I wanted to go back to polish so I have since been following the package insert directions that simply said apply two coats RM then basically polish as usual. I recently saw OPI put instructions online on how to use with Envy and in them they say it's important to wash it off after the 10 minutes before polish. I noticed you also say it needs 10 minutes. That was definitely not anywhere in my instructions. I have developed Onycholysis on all my nails so have ceased use. Could this have been to improper usage of the product?

Hi Anna- Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so much!!! I have been doing chemo, and my drugs (trastuzumab, tucatinib and capecitabine) have caused a side effect called hand and foot syndrome, where the nerves burn, the skin thickens, peels, cracks, and sheds, and my nails have delaminated. I have to trim the skin, as it gets so ragged. I found the OPI Nail repair at a local salon supply right before I found your channel, and have noticed some good results. I stopped after 7 days, as OPI said, and then started again. Is there no benefit after a certain number of days of use? I am interested in seeing further results from your client. Thanks!!!

Ty for this video and advice. I’m def going to try OPI RM. I noticed your client has a raised vertical line (not ridges) on a few of her nails. I do too. Do you know what causes these lines? And is there anything I can do about them? It’s been 2+ years and mine are not improving. Ty in advance.

The vertical lines are commonly called ridges... I don't think there is much you can do. Just keeping the nails cared for makes the nails look better.

@@TheSalonLife Edit: I found an article saying you can have one ridge or multiple. I did not know that. I do have ridges but not on the nails with these lines. Plus, they look completely different than my other ridges and images of ridges online. I really thought it was something else. I wrote you back (below) thinking my description wasn’t clear. That’s the only reason I wrote “NOT ridges”. I was not questioning your expertise. I hope it didn’t come across that way. If so, I apologize. Again, thank you so much for your help and all your informative videos. 🙏 I really appreciate you replying. I was referring to a single, slightly raised, vertical line on a few nails. NOT ridges. She seems to have one on her right and left ring finger and I think on her right pinky. Mine are more pronounced. I’ve researched and can’t find anything about it.

Your videos are life changing. I followed your regimen (OPI, oil, gentle pushing) and had tremendous results. In 2 weeks my nails looked like brand new. I have callous on my right foot from a metatarsal problem and that callous grows nearly under my second toe nail. GONE with Kerasol treatment!!!! Now the FUNNY thing was then I sprained my dominant wrist and couldn't do anything and it was in a sling for two weeks. THAT was the magic cure! Almost no water. No activities. No breaks in the corners AT ALL (my weak spot), No peeling. No cracking. Strong as heck! LOL. Just stop using your hands and you're DONE! 🤣Although my opposite hand suffered, of course and I couldn't even use manicure tools on it so I pushed back with a wash cloth which is the same thing.

To be honest I’m sooooo tired of this type of marketing. Just look at the ingredients, they are the same. There is nothing “healthier” about it. They might have amazing formula or colors or brushes and they might be a wonderful company but that’s about it. The fearmongering they utilize to sell their product is off putting. Non of the polishes are toxic. They would not be allowed on the market if they were toxic (used as directed).

Ps. Olive and June “strengthener” is interesting though. I don’t think the celery helps as much as Dimethyl Urea which is an excellent hardener (but celery sounds better). I like how this is not in a nail polish version. Ingredients Ethyl Acetate, Isopropylidenediphenyl Bisoxyhydroxypropyl Methacrylate, Dimethyl Urea, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Apium Graveolens (Celery) Seed Extract, Water, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol. Would OPI repair mode work for the free edge bubbling up (the top layer is separated but not peeling) or does that just need to be cut off? This especially happens when I hit my nail against something on accident :( My nails have improved so much since watching this channel (been watching 2 years next month) and the nail beds much longer so I always apply londontown milky illuminating nail concealer after my weekly manicure so perhaps after two years it’s surface damage but it’s only the free edge of my middle and index fingers 🤔

How do you feel about OPI Nail Envy? I just bought the original and a colored version. When I take it off my nails seem so dry.
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 6 ай бұрын
It's just a clear nail polish. It used to have formalin which actually worked as a hardener but they removed it and replaced with something that is not effective in my opinion. Nails can't be dry after polish because polish actually raises moisture level in the nails but polish can damage the nail surface so it looks rough which people call "dry"

To be less damaged or less ridgy? To be less damaged, yes. To be less ridgy, no. Ridges start underneath the skin fold. The matrix is not making the nail plate very evenly. This product cannot change that.

@@TheSalonLife Why would you leave and promote a chemical solvent in the nails?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 6 ай бұрын
Because it's a safe solvent. The information written by a world renowned chemist and scientist that I included above explain it. PS. Acetone evaporates from the nail completely. There is nothing to be washed off. It removes everything from the nail, that is why we used it. That is why it's used in labs, to clean the glassware. Because it leaves no residue. Cosmetic grade acetone also does not leave residue, so there is nothing to wash off.

You are correct, proper nail care routine is most important. This is an addition to the routine. I also think repair polishes (most of them) are a bit gimmicky. @@TheSalonLife No, six days OPI. Then polish, but nails protected by peel off base by ÜNT (waterbased). This construct only lasts 2 days but doesn't damage the nails, but at least for these two days they are "shielded". Then OPI again. Before that I tried weeks without polish and just OPI, wasn't great. When I was younger it was enough to soak the nails in oilbaths like you recommend. And it worked for a long time. Healthy nails, polish lasted long enough. Then I became old and it didn't work anymore. That's when I tried OPI. But maybe I'm just a gal that bonders are not useful for, my hair is unimpressed by Olaplex too. I wear gloves for dishwashing, I oil the nails religiously. I've got those cute cuticle buddies by Meech in every part of my flat, beside my sink in the kitchen, the bathroom, the bed, in my office, on my desk at home, beside my chillplace in the living room, on my keychain. Others think of me as nuts because of that. And I really use them. I think I treat my nails correctly. You taught me well. Now I will try some vitamins and my goal is the get hormonal treatment, but doctors are reluctant.
