OP You considered the question of an open marriage which came completely out of the blue. You considered it before deciding "I can't do this" You made a difficult decision but one that was right for you. You speak about "learning from your mistakes going forward." From your narrative I struggle to see what mistakes you made. Your wife, on the other hand, made the mistake of thinking you'd be OK with an open relationship. Going forward you need to stick with your principles of monogamy and make sure your partner understands that is non negotiable. Maybe make sure you communicate your thoughts and feelings more often. Your ex needs to appreciate that suggesting opening a relationship to solve 'problems' rather than discussing and addressing them as a couple is going to deter potential partners than encouraging them to embrace such openness.

Too much repetition in the story. It feels like it was used as a filler to extend the story. The baseline was fine, just the repeat of so many phrases made the dialogue too predictable. Sometimes people need to separate their lives to allow themselves to mature withing themselves before commencing on a lifetime monogamous journey. Some work, most don't. All the baggage has to be discarded, then buy a new suitcase to encapsulate your monogamous future.

either she is already cheating or she wants to do it guiltless and has somebody planned to. at best (very rare) she's just not monogamous and follow stupid advices , need for attention, fear to miss out, not reliable, too influencable and does not prioritize respect or love you. dumping her is the only course of action. that then no contact. she's not matuer enough and will never be, not gf even less wife material. save yupouself a long agoiny with this damaged goods, however loss you may feel
