Keep in mind this was in the historical times. The one who assaulted her was the emperor the king of the city, whose is also one of her close friends since childhood and her husband's sworn brother. Back then if a woman was married and was assaulted by other men, her reputation will not be good. People will look down on her instead of pitying or comforting her. She also lied because she knows how her husband is, he will rush like what he did in here and fight with the emperor and then possibly get beheaded for offending the emperor. She also lied so her and most likely her husband reputation won't be frowned and look down upon.

He was the emperor. There would have probably been no consequences for him but loads for the woman and his husband. Times were different back then - the emperor was considered the son of heaven. He could pretty much do anything.

The Emperor was the childhood sweetheart of the woman, but he ended up marrying his current wife instead of her, and she refused to be his concubine years before and told him there was nothing between them anymore once he got married to the other woman,,, he watched her marry another man who promised her she would be his only wife and never bring another female in their marriage,,,, even after many years the Emperor still loves her and is jealous of her marriage, she tries to be a friend to him but he basically traps her and tries to have her against her will in this scene,,,,, the drama is Queen Dugu.
