Telling people not to care about appearance is easy to say if you are already gorgeous. The thing is, some people strive after being able to look in the mirror, and feel pride and love in what they see - instead of wanting to cry the second they see the swamp-monster in front of them. I do not think it is superficial or wrong to seek that. Of course beauty is not the only thing that matters. But I don't understand why movies always seem to be this way; pretty = superficial or evil, while unattractive = being a saint. Why can a woman not strive for being both beautiful, kind and happy?

@@HereIAm247 Shaming? You're being over dramatic. Colorism is wrong no matter what. There's NOTHING wrong with dark skin like some real people say. And the girl wasn't even ugly?? You ARE striving for vanity with this comment.
@HereIAm247
@HereIAm247 Жыл бұрын
@@PickyVickyVindictive I am just curious, where have I said anything about skin colour? Personally, I find all shades beautiful. But I have mentioned nothing about skin colour in any of my previous comments. I have not called anyone ugly either - I have yet to see someone other than myself that I would consider ugly. I did say that we have some control over our appearance, because we do. Skincare, haircare, hygiene/grooming practices, the clothes we choose to wear, healthy eating, physical exercise, posture and body language, the list goes on. And by focusing on these things, I have drastically improved my own appearance, to the point that I don't always feel like crying when I look in the mirror, and sometimes even feel a hint of pride. Though I do still feel like a swamp monster at times, it is a work in progress. If you think that is superficial or vain, that is your own problem. Personally, focusing on improving the things I can improve on (both in appearance, and other areas of my life) have greatly improved my general happiness and quality of life. So if you want to stay stuck in a victim mentality, be my guest. I am certainly not going to, and thankfully, I do not need your approval to continue to strive to improve my appearance (as well as other areas of my life). It sounds like you have a very black and white way of thinking.

People feeling hopeless about their looks: as a female in mid thirties, let me tell you what I learned in life- you can look attractive when you know how to best present yourself. Being fit and healthy and well groomed and stylish( as per their personal taste ) and have a good personality is enough for anyone to be attractive. I was always insecure about my skin color and looks and never thought I could be termed as pretty. But I put some work in this direction and I look and feel pretty now.

You can be skinny or pretty as much as you want but some jerk will still make you feel insecure. Skinny or chubby, live your life however you want. But don't hangout with people who make you feel insecure about your appearance. I like this movie cause they didn't bash skinny people to enhance chubby people. At the end of the movie it embraces all kinds of beauty skinny, chubby, dark skin, light skin, curly hair, straight hair. The message is there's beauty in everyone and it's diverse.

you right but wrong. Dont accept people for being over weight, that's not okay. Its not okay to treat your body like a fat storage facility. Its perfectly fine that we make those people feel shame, because they should feel shame. This idea you cant control your image is bullcrap. Fat shaming is needed, because being fat is not okay. its not something society should ever just accept and say we cant say anything about them. Insulting a person with an eating disorder 9/10 times is not gonna help them be as healthy as they need. Bashing and shaming them is most likely going to make them eat more. And for years and years bigger people have been shamed for their weight but yet obesity in America is larger than before, so please tell me how that’s gonna help. You can be accepting and encourage them into a healthy life style but I promise you shaming and making fun of them is most likely going to do the complete opposite. don't let these movies and these pale ghosts make you feel insecure. Look at all of the fashion and plastic surgery trends in the last decade(last 400ish years for western countries). The proof is in the pudding, god made you in his image(the ORIGINAL EVE-MODEL IMAGE).

The use of white coloured powders to do that was because they are naturally closer to white than black in the first place, and let's be totally honest people nowadays would go ballistic if asians started blackening theirs faces. I've watched asian tv cinema for years and I'm white bit I don't feel inferior, I watched many movies with a black lead and managed to feel invested in it, if you're insecure about who you are then the issue is with yourself.

@@majpanik Well no shit you don’t feel inferior. It’s not constantly being thrown in your face in media that your lighter skin is bad and should be darkened. This whole recap is the perfect example. The “ugly girls” were all darker or had big hair. While all the attractive ones were taller lighter and thinner with bone straight silky hair. You being white and saying that you never felt inferior is just proving the point further. While in many cases darker skinned people with curly hair have felt like this because of these types of “beauty standards” being thrown around.

In my teens i was so insecure about my appearance. My close ones too used to pass some remarks on how i look directly or indirectly and that were seeded deep into my brain during my teenage phase. I never felt pretty. Although i used to be happy most of the time but subconsciously i avoided any interaction with people because I was under confident. Just as a teenage ive applied idk what all to my face but in my 20s now i know I've been pretty all that time and now too. I feel pretty from within and I'm confident that i look good...now the remarks of anyone doesn't pass through me it gets reflected back because I've made a shield of confidence around myself. I now know I'm beautiful and i owe to what I've turned into...i can say I've a heart that has an urge to help others whenever i can and that happiness is reflected on my face and skin and i glow. Just with happiness and positivity you can become pretty and beautiful that too inside out. Glowing skin is nothing but happiness shedding from it. Positive vibes can turn into sparkles which shine on your face and people perceive it as beauty. You all are beautiful. Just try to stay positive and find good in everything you're surrounded by❤

This is really far from reality. Some people are honestly ugly when they are thin! Gaining some weight can make them radiant with beauty. Being overweight would make us concerned about health problems beside being judged by others of being ugly/ having fat bags! But hey! Who cares! Being healthy, happy and content is the most important thing ♥️❤️♥️

Well I don't think so. Beautiful people can also be insecure for a lot of reasons. For example beautiful women could be accused for not being smart, because of stereotype that being beautiful means that you are foolish, and these women always have to prove their smartness. And this is only one example of insecurity

Rara is way more attractive than her sister in my eyes. I like women around her size, I love her brown skin, melanin is very attractive. And curly hair paired with melanated skin is my kryptonite.

Fascinating the diversity in Indonesia. And is English one of the languages there? Lulu's line is spoken perfectly without an accent.

No but if you’re from middle to upper class especially if they live in the city, there is a high chance they could speak english, even if theyre not fluent at speaking, they are likely understand what youre speaking. Not saying if they dont come from a financially sufficient family, they could not speak english (especially they younger generation), if they are interested in western’s entertainment/ any western related stuffs, there is high chance they understand english. But no we don’t speak english on daily basis. And yes, we speak with an American accent altho some of us, use our regional accent.

Hi and bye aren't hard to pronounce without an accent. And I don't where you're from but most people around the world know more than 1 language.

@@sy20777 I doubt that most of us speak w an american accent.. pretty sure that's just the case for rich af people. I went to a school where we must speak English. It's cheaper than most english-speaking schools but some of my classmates are kinda rich (most are middle class, some a bit higher, some are struggling to pay for the tuition), I don't remember any of the kids speaking with an american accent other than that one kid who grew up in philadelphia though.

My issue with this channel is simply laziness. As a native English speaker I couldn’t even begin to translate an English film into another language to this degree, so who ever wrote this description of the film…thank you & major respect. That said, this channel can’t even be bothered to proof read the script before putting it into the auto speak generator & it seriously makes me wonder if they’re not just ripping scripts off the internet for these films. Like someone’s written this whole script on an IMDb & they’re like “that’ll do!”.

Don't care about people words that's their opinion and it's just words, but in reality they are either jealous or have insecurities they are trying to deflect from. By picking on unusual people. You are happy if YOU make yourself happy no one can do that for you. 💪 💪
