Y'know, the original Hotel Transylvania had some real solid ground on it stand on and it made sense. The story was good, the characters were great. Their arcs and motivations were all solid, unique and it was an Adamn Sandler film actually worth getting into. No wonder Dracula hated humans so much. They took away his wife and his home. Mavis was all he had left, and that's why he was so protective of his daughter.

In my honest opinion, Hotel Transylvania 1 was the best out of the rest. This one had much more emotion in it, monsters could actually show how scary they can be, whereas, in the rest of the HT movies, they are just goofy children's characters. They began these movies with quality, sadly they couldn't maintain it.

I love all the hotel transylvania movies but the first one is really something, it properly captures emotions and expressions and tugs at the heart strings, every movie as time went on seemed to get more and more silly, emotions were there but still.

HT 1: a wholesome story about an overprotective father overcoming his trauma and accepting someone of a species he hated and feared marrying his daughter to make her happy HT 2: a little goofy, but a good story of a grandfather still struggling to accept a former enemy into his heart and accepting his grandson as he is, and the grandson understanding his identity as half human half vampire HT 3: a bit too overloaded with cheap jokes and weirdly janky animation, but still contains a meaningful love story of a man finally letting go of the love he lost and finding a new one, as well as his new love accepting monsters and overcoming her generational trauma HT 4: fart jokes, butt jokes, weird animation that is not pleasing to the eye, jokes, jokes, and more unfunny jokes, and a recycled story about drac accepting johnny as a human son in law

I have a theory, and i want it to be true in the future Martha never died she was fainted. Then there came abraham van helsing and took her to his place and tried to experiment on her and made her captive for some time (why van helsing? Cause he and drac used to fight in the year 1895, and this is the same year when martha was supposedly dead). But after some time, she regained her powers, and van helsing attacked her, making her a human(ericka) and erased her memory(not forever but for a long time). When dracula saw her, he zinged(cause it was a very long time he saw his true love). Now, for the next movie(fifth movie), I want that van helsing to reveal his long kept secret and make martha return. Please, it will be a good ending. After this, if they want to make more movies, they can use the name castle transylvania cause they used to live in castle lubov. Or if not, then no problem. Hotel transylvania will always be a good name. Many people say that in every story of dracula, he loses his true love, but it's our drac he is different, and he isn't evil either. So please. 🙏 Thanks, it's my wish. The poem made by martha breaks my heart badly wheneveri think of it, especially the line "for a zing only happens once in your life. I hope the franchise brings her back.(atleast for the above line regarding zing) 🙏 I often get sad or depressed for dracula. Please 🙏
