When you wrote bunny I got excited and thought Border Leicester! But nope. Just a tiny sheep. Nice job though. The smaller ones are often harder then the big and heavy ones. And this one was very wiggly. I have Border Leicester sheep so hence my first excitement. Would love to see some more different breeds. Or is it very common in your area to have mainly Babydolls there? Thanks and hi from the Netherlands

I’ve always wondered why the ridges of fleece that are not shorn are not cleaned up when the bulk of it is completed. Curious as to the rationale. Not being hateful, just ignorant.
@CerebrosumАй бұрын
The wool is turned into fabric and stuff And you want it in one big piece as much as possible. Shearing the small ridges makes that later job a lot harder. I remember that she explains all of this better than I ever could in some of her older videos. And questions are awesome, good on you for daring to ask and learn!
@susangrande8142Ай бұрын
If the ridges were cut off and included with the fleece, it would be a real pain to remove those short bits. They are called second cuts. I’m a spinner and lover of wool and sheep. I’ve bought a bunch of raw fleeces from shepherds, and I love a shearer who doesn’t leave second cuts! One pass of the clippers close to the sheep’s skin, to get as much length of the lock as possible! That’s what we spinners want. I’m sure commercial wool processors feel the same way.

Please, what breed is this cutie? Her fleece is luscious! 🤤😍 I’m guessing she’s a dual purpose breed, meat and fleece. On another hand, maybe not. Her legs are very slender… 🤔. She looks like some Leicester or BFL. Those erect ears. The slightly Roman nose. Interesting!

Was it it's first time? It got me thinking about the height of the professional and the size of the animal. Sometimes super tiny and sometimes very massive. For a big day of shearing, I imagine some sorting would speed things with this in mind. 🤔
