I would not recommend a wood platform but in this case if they would have used 6x6 post and more braces to get it sturdy I could have pushed the shed on it much easier.

You can see in the final still shot where the posts in the middle have started to sink, and the rim joist is starting to sag. If they are very lucky, I’d give it until the spring thaw before that underbuilt platform collapses and the shed slides down into the woods.

Hope you charged accordingly. They cannot expect a free install when they made it so difficult to get it there. They cut all kinds of wood down to get it cleared but left it all laying in the way. Very risky but you made it look easy.

My backyard is a hill and I have the same setup I had one delivered and placed on the wood frame on a hillside its a 12x12. I went to the company I was having build the building and had them make up a drawing of what they require for it to be sturdy and not move when they slid the building on it. Gave the plans to a contractor and let them do it. What I have is ALOT more wood bracing and 8x8 posts and everything is bolted together. When the company delivered it said they didnt know who I had do it but it never moved and was one of the best setups they have seen like this. Cost a couple grand for the contractor to do it but way worth it. This guy is going to have issues with this sagging and settling

The frame is designed to hold downward weight not to support horizontal forces. No diffrent then a deck. Once attached to the frame of the shed it will provide horizontal stability. This is a situation where a crane should have been used.

I call BS... The post were nowhere near strong enough not to suffer motion and lateral movement over time let alone install. That thing was severely underbuilt under any circumstances especially at that height. But a hillbilly's going to do what a hillbilly's going to do.
@jjjustin17favs
@jjjustin17favs 2 жыл бұрын
@@RIDERSONLINEORG The load capacity of a 3-foot #2 grade 4×4 is 17,426 pounds, and a similar 6×6 is 20,834 pounds or 16% better. However, an 8-foot 4×4 supports 6468. Better crossbracing would help but a crane would have been the right tool for the job. Would have been cheaper to just build the whole thing on site. There's barns built on 4x4 posts that have equipment driven on them.
