In this BARGAD interview The Lallantop Editor Saurabh Dwivedi talks to amazing actress Sheeba Chaddha. She talks about her childhood in Delhi, schooling and graduation from Hans Raj College, DU. Tells why education system is the biggest scam of this century and this system fails children. She narrates her attraction towards theatre acting, doing her first play, doing plays like Waiting for Godot and working with Rajat Kapoor and Atul Kumar. Sheeba gets emotional while talking about 1984 riots in Delhi and the religion based politics of today's time. She went to USA for two years and then came back and shifted to Mumbai. It is said on the internet that Sheeba Chaddha played the role of Vasundhara, wife of Sudama in DD's mythological series Shri Krishna (1993-1995), but she says that it is totally untrue. She talks about getting a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Mani Ratnam's Dil Se. Also, the casting scene of 90's and the casting system, agents and companies of these days. Sheeba shares her experience of a casting agent trying to take commission for giving role in a film and how due to such practices she almost lost her role in Netflix series Taj Mahal 1989. She talks about working with Irrfan in an unreleased film, working with director Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra in Delhi 6, with Zoya Akhtar in Luck By Chance and Gully Boy. Sheeba also touches upon her roles as mother in Badhai Ho, Permanant Roommates, Bandish Bandits and more. She shares her thoughts about the challanges of being a single mother and a working woman.
