What a wonderful combination of two Bach pieces that I learned to play and sing six decades ago. The orchestra is superb. Some memories never fade.

Although they may be true, Ronald, the Lord asks you to NOT drop words of condemnation on Detroit (Motor City) and its people. Fault for what has happened there does not belong to the citizens, workers, and management teams of the companies there. They have been an historic and miraculous power for the USA over the decades to make available a great variety of motor vehicles in which families have been able to travel to school, work, second jobs, and occasionally, vacation. Be merciful. Pray for your home town.

While I lived in Detroit the Symphony sustained me, along with trips to the parks outside the city. Neemi Jarvi was a Godsend . Detroit eliminated its Classical music station while I was there. Motown was finished. You had to tune into to Canada for classical music. Glad they still have a magnificent Orchestra. Music has always saved the people with souls from the hellhole of Detroit and it’s political predators. The Detroit Museum & Classical arts are the last visages of beauty remaining.

I was brought up in the christian religion, not a christian anymore but I always and all the time enjoy these kinds of music. I know that music is a universal language but some don't want to listen to something that seem to go contrary to their religious belief.
@rogermetzger7335
@rogermetzger7335 4 жыл бұрын
Is it possible that what you have rejected is not the Christian religion per se but one of the many caricatures of it that have been perpetrated on the human race by hierarchical organizations, creeds and dogma? I reject such things myself but still subscribe to the great themes of the Bible as I understand it. Yes, Bach was a Lutheran but I like to think he was not merely an "adherent", i.e. that his religion was personal - not institutional.

@@rogermetzger7335 I'm not condemning the Christian religion. In fact, all religions have their good side and bad side, however when a particular religions takes it upon itself to distort its teachings, have contradictions in their highly respected religious book or portrays itself as closest to God, then I have a problem with that religion or group.

@@jikoto3885 Jesus is not a religion, Jesus is the Savior of the world, so you didn't reject a religion, you rejected Jesus John 12:46-48: "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

@@miguelangelmartinez3908 Most times ignoring ignorant fanatics is a good position to take, but sometimes letting them wallow in their ignorance is not the best thing for them. Jesus did not found a religion! In his days Jesus did not mention anything like or about religion, nor did he organize people to form a religion. Christianity was not even born after his death, Peter and the rest of his followers did not found the religion called "Christianity." Jesus the Christ (NOT Jesus of the Christian religion) is a spiritual luminary who brought knowledge and light to the world, but the likes of you turned his teachings upside down. Quoting the bible doesn't make you a spiritually enlighten person but your tolerance of others' view should be important and that is what Jesus the Christ preached! He preached Love across the board. He did not preached discrimination, segregation, greed, hypocrisy or destruction, these are handiwork of most christians all over the world. You don't need a god to tell you that!

What a magnificent performance. In current times, when most of Young girls and Boys seem to have lost the taste for classical music, this powerful orchestra brings us back, once more, the hope of a better world. I do not know (please, do not be offended), whether Jesus is or not the Joice of Man desiring, but Bach FELT things that way, many people share this visión, that is to say, the way of spirituality. Congratulations. Many thanks for posting. Greetings from Argentina.

While Sheep May Safely Graze may seem secular, and was derived from a secular contata, the concept is deeply rooted in Scripture, with Christ the Creator and Redeemer and Defender being the Good Shepherd under whose watchcare the world can safely trust.

If you came for a pleasant, relaxing experience with beloved classics - please don't click start. It's great see so many young performers enjoying themselves, but this is for their loving parents to treasure, not the unsuspecting music-lover. I hope they work with a better conductor in their future music-making. And have better audio technicians.

Way to record this. Whenever people play "key" parts the camera is not there Love the music, love the performance, but man, did you do a shitty job of recording the whole thing Ph I hear flutes, let's zoom in on violins Hey I hear brass, zoom in for 1 sec and go back to violins Oh, wait, I still hear brass, let's skim the brass section for half a second and immediately go back to violins Oh also let's zoom in on cello's while they're not doing anything special and ignore them when it's their time to shine
